Guest guest
Is rash a good thing? My has been on valtrex(6w) and diflucan(1w) and no rash yet. How long does it take for the kids to verbalize? My son turned 4 and is non verbal. > > > ~Antiviral Therapy 101 > > ~ http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com ~ > ~ @Gryffins_Tail ~ > > > > > My 8 year old (59lb) son has been on Valtrex/Ampho for 18 days. On day 5 he developed a pimple-like rash on his torso which has persisted and moved down to his groin and upper thighs. He has had a couple of low grade temperatures during this time as well. He seems to be tolerating this protocol very well as I am dosing both the Valtrex/Ampho right now twice a day. He has had some minor issues with yeast which has been easily (thus far) controllable with GSE, Candex & probiotics. I am thinking of reintroducing Enhansa midday. He has had gains in both expressive and receptive language from the second day of starting the protocol. I have also noticed some social gains as well. No notable regression has been noted at this point. > > > > A little history: My son has HFA, has been on biomedical interventions since the age of 3. He has responded very positively to most biomed treatments. My son was not vaccinated, has been GF/CF for 5 years, and was chronically ill with diarrhea/ear infections following a brief hospitalization at 18 mos for pneumonia and a treatment of IV Rocephin & oral Augmentin. That was his first ever antibiotic treatment, and the beginning of his regression into ASD. Hopefully this may help someone along the way. > > > > My questions are, how long does the rash usually persist? And, I keep reading that 3 doses per day is the optimum plan. He is currently only taking 500mg/per day divided into 2 doses. Should I request from his dr. to up the dose to 250mg @ 3 times per day (total 750mg)? Thank you folks. I have spent hours pouring over this forum. It is a blessing to me. > > > > Tina (Luke's mom) > > > > >
Guest guest
Not having a rash doesn't mean anything. My son never got the rash. What are you seeing? Guest guest
He was much calmer on valtrex and with adding diflucan, he got a little more hyper, disturbed sleep, a little less focussed. I guess that was the kill off. Last 2-3 days, he is better. > > > > > > > My 8 year old (59lb) son has been on Valtrex/Ampho for 18 days.
