Guest guest
During the pre-conference classes at the Texas EMS Conference there will be a Nationam Association of EMS Educators Instructor Course. It states that " Individuals who attend the entire course and pass the post test will receive a Certificate of Course Completion from NAEMSE and will be eligible for Texas instructor certification. " Has anyone taken one of these courses and if yes, is the post test taken right after the class or through some testing facility? Is there an additional state test after this course? I have tried to get information but have been forwarded to some one in DSHS, but I know they are very busy. Ed Walsh LP
Guest guest
I took the class last year and thought it was a very good class. and yes the post test is the last day of the class. Also the state waived the state given instructor test if you successfully completed the NAMSE class. Guest guest
I took it when it was offered in Austin. There was quite a bit of prep (home) work required prior to the class. I learned some new techniques, realized some bad habits I had, and had great time with the class. I took many of the things learned and incorporated them into the classes. I recommend the course and if you do all the pre-course you, you will have at least forty hours invested by the end of the course. Guest guest
Ed, Let me answer your questions (1) The post test is taken after completion of the class, NOT at a testing facility (2) No additional State exam is required After completing the course you will submit your application/fees along with the Course Completion Certificate to DSHS. I would strongly recommend this class to anyone wanting to become an EMS instructor or anyone who has been an instructor for a while. As Eddie states in his post you can really learn new techniques from this class Maxie Texas EMS Conference Instructor course During the pre-conference classes at the Texas EMS Conference there will be a Nationam Association of EMS Educators Instructor Course. Guest guest
I agree with Eddie and Maxie. I took the course last year and you could put all of the instructor courses that I have taken over the years (EMS, Methods of Teaching etc.) together and they wouldn't add up to what we learned in the NAEMSE course. BTW after you pass the NAEMSE instructors course you are eligible to sit for the National EMS instructors exam.
