The vacation goes on... and we've had a good couple of vacation days. Yesterday we went to a mini music festival of sorts. The background history is that in 's teenage years, before she went to college and before we met, she and her friends built a live music place in the very small town of Simrishamn, where she grew up. It started out small, and with mostly local bands playing, but grew into a place where even the really big artists and bands performed, and wanted to perform. Some of the big names even called and asked to be booked for a gig at that club. It sort of died out when those active there had grown up and moved away to college or bigger cities, although the building still existed. But this winter/spring the

building burned to the ground, probably set on fire by a teenager or teenagers, this prompted the old gang to plan a memorial concert/mini festival, with some of the bands that used to play there in the old days. To honor the history of the place, and to show/remind the teenagers of today that it is possible to make something constructive, even as a teenagers in a small town. Maybe inspire them to build something of there own, rather than burn things down. Said and done, the date was set to yesterday, and a mix of the local bands and the bigger names that had played at Godsmagasinet (or "Godset" as it was called) was booked for the event. The weather conspired against the organizers, as the heat wave broke abruptly and was followed by rain, cold temperatures and strong winds. Which is not a good thing when you are doing an outdoor concert. Some of the bands cancelled due to the weather. But the remaining ones were well worth the "cost" of standing

outside in the rain for 6 or 7 hours... And I was especially glad to be able to see the band Elevator Adam perform. They started out as one of the local bands, but made it nationally, released albums and played in the big places. Before I went to see them the first time, I wasn't all that anxious to. Pop music was never really my thing, and the places they played in were not really my kind of places. I knew the singer (through ), and as I explained to , I really liked him, so it was nothing personal, and "I am sure they are great, as you say, but it's just not my kind of thing." Finally she had the singer add my name to the guest list when they were playing locally and plainly told me: "You are on the guest list. You are coming. End of discussion." And I am glad I did go. Seeing them on stage was...well magic. Such great performers, even though they were not exactly playing my kind of music. And the singer was so

different from his usual self it was almost hard to believe it was him up there. He was such a shy boy, usually. But not a trace of that when he was on stage. He is a little less shy now as he is older. But he is still a very kind man. And, goes without saying..., still a great performer, although I haven't been to any of his concerts lately (until yesterday). And, incidentally, he is a very talented cook too, he cooked for a surprise dinner for me and that our friends were throwing shortly before our wedding, as an alternative to the bachelor parties we had firmly told everyone that we didn't want.Yesterday in short: Got to see and listen to great bands, hang out backstage, and have a great time. Today my knees ache from dancing and I am a little hoarse from yelling "One more time" a little too many times... Very pleased with our Saturday all in

all. Elevator Adam back in the days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgY6qtHdHP8And this is what the singer looks and sounds like today (he has went solo now), when he is not doing reunions with his old band like yesterday that is:

gonna tell you about our days on the beach too, but, oh well, will have to be another post...love/Reb
