Howdy Troops!

If anybody has a picture of a Build-A-Board, would you please send it to me?

If you don't know what it is, then you won't have a picture of it. LOL.

For those who are pups, it was (is) an Instrument of the Devil invented by

Ferno to be used in extrication from cars. It was the precursor of the KED, I

suppose, but a lot more complicated and much less practical.

I'll leave it to the other Mossback/Dinos to expound further about it. But

I would dearly love to have a pic to show a bud who ain't never seen one and

didn't know it existed. (He's from West Texas, so he can't be held

responsible for that).

Check the National EMS Museums web site (I don't have a link sorry). Might have

a shot of one there.

I just scrapped one about 5 years before I came to Texas.

Not quite. It looked like a Scoop Stretcher with several joints that could be

locked in various positions to allow you to " build " it around your seated

Patient.

I never said it worked and frankly they were more or less done by the time I

came to EMS in the areas I worked in. I tossed at least 3 of them in dumpsters

in my time.

It was an instrument of the Devil! If you and your patient didn't get

pinched at least three different ways you weren't doing it right. It also tore

up

the seat of my pickup when I volunteered it as the vehicle to use to

demonstrate the damn thing.
