Thank you so much, , for explaining this to us.Love to you,n, whose father was born in Toronto, and who has cousins in Edmonton, Winnipeg, Vancouver,Toronto, and many parts of CanadaTo: MSersLife Sent: Sun, July 25, 2010 11:44:19 PMSubject: Re: medical records

This is what I love about Alberta. We have a system here called HealthNet which is a database accessed by doctors, hospitals and labs. All test results, reports, and hospital stays are located in this dadabase so that your doctor need only consult it to access test results and reports ordered by any of your other doctors.I believe that this also helps to prevent fraud since a person can't go from hospital to hospital without due reason (IE someone with Munchausen's). It is protected under the FIFA privacy act which spells out who can access what information. If needed, you can make it confidential, barring anyone from accessing it without your express permission. This means that when I go to see my neurologist after my discharge, he'll have all the pertinent info, MRI, etc at his fingertips.
