Guest guest
Thank you for sharing this probiotic, Tendai. $155 is a lot up front, but if you consider the fact that one bottle will last a minimum of 4 months, it seems like a pretty great deal at less than $40 per month. We just ordered Klaire's Her-Biotic Detox Support Monday. Maybe we will try this brand next. Thanks again,Mom to 5 year-old Liam Great probiotic for those wth pandas kids or avoid dairy http://organic3.com/gutpro/Sent from my iPod
Guest guest
I have a fundamental question for anybody, and its this: How can a probiotic act against PANDAS? Pardon my ignorance but I think probiotic bacteria act only in the digestive system. They can't work systemically. So, once an autoimmune reaction has occurred say in amygdala what can any probiotic do? Nothing. Right?? I can agree for their preventative effect as the first line of defense in the gut so that the harmful bacteria don't leak through the gut.Or would you say that if harmful bacteria can leak through, why can't the probiotic too? I agree. But the only probioticthat are capable of this are lacto strain, not bifido or any other. Guest guest
Hi and Ratan,I haven't quite figured out how it works (need to watch that video) but would love to find a better probiotic than VSL#3. We actually see Dr. Woeller and talked about it but decided that my kids do better on it (possibly bc of their clostridia, oxalate issues) even though my son showed this PANDAS like episode that started in January. Since it didnt start immediately following the introduction of VSL, he decided we should stay on it (we started vsl in Sept). Anyway, I have tried CP11 and others and they dont work as well for us. Even though i get the VSL for free through insurance, i would pay for another strep free probiotic that works just as well bc it is still a concern...will keep trying...just sharing our experience!By the way, is there anyone out there with a PANDAS/PANS kid that also has issues with clostridia and yeast?cheers, To: "mb12valtrex " <mb12valtrex > Sent: Thursday, March 22, 2012 11:11 AM Subject: Re: Great probiotic for those wth pandas kids or avoid dairy RatanIf u spend sometime on sr K Woeller site u will know that there is a strain of Bactria called streptococcus thermophilus this can make pandas symptoms worseThis is bad for kids wth strep the same strain I learnt is also in yorgut. Guest guest
Yes. My son has PANDAS and also sruggles with clostridia or yeast, depending on which direction we are flaring. We use custom probiotics, sacch B and culturelle. Culterelle primarily bc the nurse gives it to him at lunch time at school and sending custom probiotics in a glass jar to school would be weird. > > >  > >I have a fundamental question for anybody, and its this: How can a probiotic act against PANDAS? > >Pardon my ignorance but I think probiotic bacteria act only in the digestive system.
