Guest guest
Turn her in for what? Being rude isn't a crime, and probably not a TDH rule violation either. Her boss is the only person who might care or do anything about it. Call back and ask for the administrator or owner. Besides, I don't think I would worry about it. The outfit is just one of the several hundred privates who are always coming and going within shooting distance of Houston. I don't know this company, but there is a never ending supply of private transfer and standby companies in that area that are forever coming and going, hiring inexperienced EMT's, shutting down (or getting shut down) and failing to pay employees when they close the doors. If you're willing to work for that kind of company, all I can do is wish you luck. First thing I would do is check with the workforce commission to see if they have any history, then I would check with TDH for the same information. Calling the attorney general's fraud office might be a good idea too. -- -- > > Hi Everyone how are you all doing? > > I called Life Saver EMS in New Caney and i got a Very rude Lady, I did not get her name but who do i call to turn her in? Guest guest
Sage advice. I assume has been around the block a time or two. My experience with small private outfits in recent years would lead me to make the same cautions. There is so little oversight in healthcare billing that only a few get caught, making everybody want a slice of the pie. In Pittsburg all the privates were owned by Russian immigrants, and in Little Rock it was Nigerians, but the home grown folk are tempted too. Here in Denver we have our troubles, but not so much as I remember from elsewhere. There will always be those willing to exploit a weakness, and virginal EMTs applying at private companies should be wary of those first few job offers. Check them out carefully. Guest guest
WTH?eck do Russians and Nigerians have to do with this? Did I miss something? And btw I'm from Little Rock and there are no privates there....it's all 3rd service quasi-public EMS. Re: Called about a Job Sage advice. I assume has been around the block a time or two. Guest guest
Mr. Shaw, I am sorry if my comments have offended you. You are correct regarding 911 ambulances, but the discussion is about privates, and there are privates operating in and around Little Rock doning non emergency work. A cursory internet search would reveal some that have been prosecuted for Medicare fraud. I wasn't trying to slam ethnic groups and not all of those bending the laws have been immigrants, but some are and some still operate outside the rules. From my experience, certain groups seem to learn how easy it is to beat the system and how few will be caught and\or prosecuted, so it becomes endemic within that community. I suppose the risks are worth it to them. What Nigerians and Russians have to do with it is that those are the communities within which I have personally witnessed such behavior. I'm sure they are not alone, from what I read about Houston.
