Guest guest
I have an appointment on Friday for a teeth cleaning. The last time I had my teeth cleaned (7 years ago) I went into an exacerbation. I made the appt. thinking "I can do this". Last night I dreamed about the cleaning and this morning my legs are killing me--they are all spastic and painful. I am now thinking "I CAN'T do this". lol I am supposed to have a 'possible' root canal done on Monday morning and I think if I have my teeth cleaned on Friday I won't be in any shape for real dental work.My son laughs at me and thinks I'm just scared of the dentist. (I am:) Son doesn't get the whole exacerbation worry, I know. Here's what I'm thinking.... cancel the teeth cleaning and keep the root canal appt on Monday. I know it's important to have my teeth cleaned because I have bad gum disease. But I think I can't do both the teeth cleaning and the root canal in just a few days, you know? Help me out here friends. Confirm my thoughts please:) SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
I wonder if this exacerbation wasn't triggered by the intensity of the cleaning. What I mean is thay if you have it done regularly, subsequent ones shouldn't affect you. http://practical-homeschooling.org www.laurascoolstuff.com I have an appointment on Friday for a teeth cleaning. Guest guest
Dear Sharon, I agree with you. Less stress is better. In the mean time here are 3 things to do that will help the gum disease:Brush your teeth with water as hot as you can stand.Rinse with 50% water and 50% peroxide 3 times a day. If you cannot do this reduce the amount of peroxide but it will not work as well. Minimum is 10%.Also rinse with strong salt water as hot as you can stand 3 times a day.HAPPINESS & BUTTERFLIES LynnSubject: what do I do? ?????To: "Group" <mserslife >Date: Wednesday, July 28, 2010, 5:35 PM I have an appointment on Friday for a teeth cleaning. Guest guest
Getting your teeth cleaned regularly is very important, especially if you have gum disease. Teeth feel so good after a cleaning, and it is lots easier than a root canal. Some people take a sedative or a muscle relaxer or even get nitrous oxide gas if available. I think we MSers are a tough group of people because of what we encounter daily. I believe you will be fine. Keep the apts., Sharon! Positive thinking, ok? I've had 3 root canals, and it was not nearly as " bad " as I envisioned. Kathy > > I have an appointment on Friday for a teeth cleaning. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement. I must admit I do have a dental phobia about some things, but I know you all couldn't tell;) I canceled the cleaning appointment but I'm keeping the dental appointment for Monday. When I get there I will reschedule the cleaning appointment. Honest! I have heard good things about this dental hygienist. He is supposed to be very gentle and very good. I am relieved just knowing I don't have to do the cleaning and then the dental appointment three days later. I hope I sleep better tonight and my spastic legs go away. Thanks to all my good friends here who cared enough to give their thoughts on the subject. Big hugs to each of you! SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Just getting this email now, Sharon. Probably by now you've reached a decision...my 2 cents...have the root canal, and save the cleaning. Canyou take some meds for TN for awhile, just to hold it at bay til the rootcanal has settled down? Schedule the cleaning for about a month fromnow or so. That's just me.love to you, Kate what do I do? ?????To: Group > I have an appointment on Friday for a teeth cleaning. Guest guest
Thanks, Kate, for the good advice. I did cancel the cleaning because I was just too worried about having both the cleaning and the dental appt within 3 days! I don't know why on earth I scheduled it like that! lol I hope I'll get to keep the dental appt in the morning. If we don't get more rain tonight we will probably be able to get out. The roads (dirt) have been very messy for the last few days. SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
