Guest guest
love the ending...i wish you peace>>>>debbi brantSubject: a bit of drama...with a comical twistTo: "MSersLife" <MSersLife >Date: Wednesday, July 28, 2010, 8:52 PM Woke up today to an mms on the cell phone from my sister, with a photo of Pixie (her 2,5 year old daughter) looking like she had been in a fight with Mike Tyson. Her left eye was swollen to the point that she couldn't open it. She probably had an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite - or another bug bite. My sister was a bit in doubt as to what to do about it, since, on the one hand it looked kind of bad, but on the other hand it also seemed stable (the swelling wasn't increasing), and they were in the cottage by the baltic sea, in a nature reserve, temporarily without a car, so getting to a doctor might prove difficult. Eventually she called a friend who came there and drove them to the closest town/village, where they went to the local pharmacy to ask for advice. The pharmacist insisted that they should at least see a nurse, and directed them to the outpatient clinic in town. The nurse, in turn, agreed that it seemed stable, and in that respect not alarming, but thought a doctor should look at it, especially to make sure that there was not too much pressure building up inside the eye. So she got them an appointment with the children's doctor at the clinic, at the earliest possible, which was 2-3 hours later. That's when she called me a second time, to give me an update about the events so to speak. They were in the car and was going for lunch while they waited for the doctor's appointment, Pixie was bored and a bit bothered by the eye, so she wasn't in the best of moods. During my conversation with a, Pixie started crying and asking why she wasn't allowed to drive the car... a calmly answered: "You want a reason as to why you are not driving the car? Well. You are a half-blind 2 year old who is on medication and without a license, I think the reason is in there somewhere... " LOL.love/RebPS. Everything went well. No permanent damage to the eye.
