Yes, the Luggie Scooter is a smart thing to have for travel. I wouldn't be surprised to see many disabled and elderly fellow travelers using the scooter on future trips. I should have had brochures to hand out as so many people asked about it. LOL

Here is my photo on the first day of the trip. Here I am at the airport in Taipei, Taiwan, en route to Bangkok.Dan U dao_nguu@...

I looked up the Luggie Scooter, Dan. What a super-smart thing!

I hope you are enjoying your trip! Have a blast!

Insurance definitely doesn't cover it. The insurance companies consider something like a portable scooter optional equipment. If one can travel, one must not be that disabled. That's their perspective on it. Fortunately, the Scooter Store has an installment payment plan.

The scooter is relatively lightweight at about 55 lbs (with the battery). In Thailand, a young usher at a movie theatre carried the thing up and down a flight of stairs for me with little effort. And, my friend in Vietnam carried it up a flight of stairs at a hotel like it was a 5 lb. sack of rice. However, had they not been so enthusiastic to help, I could have shown them how to pull the folded scooter like a piece of luggage on wheels. :)Dan U dao_nguu@...

Nice scooter, Dan! It looks lightweight and portable as they say. How much does it weigh? Very clever design. Did your insurance cover it? I hope so.I'll bet you had a wonderful trip!Glad to have you back with us.hugs, Kate

That's amazing, Dan! How lightweight and portable it is. It rolls; how cool and convenient is that!I think that's just awful the perspective the insurance companies have on traveling with a disability. It's disgusting. I'm glad you were able to work out a payment plan.Again, it is so good to have you back in our midst.hugs, kateSubject: RE: RE: Dan.......Luggie ScooterTo: mserslife Date: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 7:48 PM
