Also, any other " confessed sweet >addicts " out there, I have a wonderful recipe I ran across last year that >cures my sweet tooth in a healthy way. It's called " power balls " contains >peanutbutter(non-hydrogenated, all-natural of course) wheatgerm, dry milk >etc. If anyones interested let me know, they are wonderful! Watch out for too much peanut butter!!! Very high caloric and high in fats (even tho it's the good fats)
Guest guest
Arrowhead Mills sells a peanut butter that is honey sweetened and is processed in such a way and without hydrogenation that makes it stay mixed up better than other natural peanut butters. I know it's better for you than Jif, Skippy, or Pan (no hydrogenated fats) but I don't know how it would stack up to NT. I think it's called Easy Spreading Honey Sweetened Peanut Butter or something like that. I'm too lazy to go get my bottle. ine in SC
Guest guest
I always thought " natural " peanut butter tasted better than skippy. But it has to be roasted and salted. I was brought up on Skudders (sp?)--on the East Coast Smukers is very much like that. Now I get an " organic " chunky brand I can't think of right now. Why do you like Skippy? Do you not like to mix the oil back in? Or do you want your pnut butter sweet?
Guest guest
I suppose it tastes good because I'm used to it. It's smooth, sweet and salted, and yes, its a pain to mi the oil back in every time. I think I'll try the one a recommended first. Thanks for your input. Guest guest
>> and yes, its a pain to mi the oil back in every time. Just FYI, you only have to mix the oil back in the first time you open the jar. Once it's open and mixed, you store it in the fridge and it doesn't separate again. ~ Carma ~ " Self-reliance is the antidote to institutional stupidity. Guest guest
Yes, that's true, but its also hard to spread on the bread like that. Okay, I'm whining. Enough, I'm going to order the good stuff. Guest guest
> Is there a " good for you " peanut butter out there that tastes good > (like Skippy)? Well, I think the natural peanut butters taste good too, but Whole Kids peanut butter at Whole Foods is nearly indistinguishable from the Jif and Skippy products of the world in my opinion... Unfortunately, I can't usually get it. One of the stores around here carries it, but it's not one that I usually shop at.
