Hi

I am not succeeding in giving my child any vits or minerals. She is CF and i am considering giving her goat yogurt just so that she gets calcium. I have kirkmans calcium powder and it just blows up her stomach. Any thoughts or brands I shld try?

Thanks

are you giving her calcium carbonate? That is harder on the tummy...we are finally able to tolerate calcium and using the calcium citrate powder from New Beginnings (no additives). To: "mb12valtrex@yahoogroups com" <mb12valtrex > Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2012 10:12 AM Subject: multiminerals

Just a thought, since my son is also CF. I've switched from Rice and Almond milk to Coconut milk (not the thick canned stuff from Thailand for cooking, haha) which is available in the same section of the grocery as the Rice and Almond. It has 5x as much calcium as cow's milk, and it has a fat content that is equivalent to whole milk, as many of our kids are such picky eaters that they tend toward being on the skinny side. My kiddo won't drink milk, but anywhere I can add it in as far as cooking goes, ie bread, pancakes, dredging chicken for nuggets, etc., I do. If all else fails, I feed him salty popcorn, and have that milk be the only thing available to drink, haha. I manage to get about a cup a day into him.

Good luck,

CF as in cystic fibrosis? Aer you aware that low oxalate diet is helpful for CF?

We are carriers here and follow the diet.

(Sorry I have made myself no mail option on the group so I could get more

done... I was spending too much time on here.)
