Fiance & I recently moved into our own apartment. Haven't had any issues at

all with our neighbors, they are all really nice. Was sitting here studying

for finals tomorrow and heard what sounded like someone being slammed

against floor/walls upstairs and blood curdling screams and her yelling " get

the f off me " . Called the police. Just hope she & the kids are ok.

It really triggered me, hearing that.

Police showed up quickly thank goodness. It's all quiet now. I think he

left. I just hope they're ok.

Ugh.

Wow, how awful for you. That would be very upsetting/triggering for me to hear

also, and I'd do exactly the same thing you did: call the police and make a

domestic violence report. You never know, he could have actually been

committing a murder-suicide up there, so, I think you did the right thing.

That is both compassionate and very brave of you, most people don't want to get

involved. You get big kudos from me for making the report.

When I was living in LA, the people in the apartment across the hall from me

would fight so badly that the walls would shake and they even caused a picture

frame to fall off my wall and break. I called the police on them a couple of

times, but eventually stopped because they were just tweekers beating the crap

out of each other, and unfortunately, he was the nephew of the building owneer,

and I didn't want any retaliation.

Glad you called the police, Mia.

Thanks. Yeah, it was bad. It's been quiet ever since. I think he left...

not sure who he is, if that's her husband/boyfriend/ex... we've only lived

here a month. Usually it's pretty quiet.

Afldancer, I had to look up what a " tweeker " was. Yikes! That sure doesn't

sound fun at all.

I'm glad I called too, and if she confronts me, I'm just going to try &

calmly tell her, " Listen, I'd rather have a pissed off neighbor than one

who's dead or injured " . Plus she has 2 kids. Oy. Have only met her a

couple times as we've been going in & out and talked for a bit. Everyone in

my building's super nice, but this is the 2nd time we know of the police

being at her apartment. The other night fiance & I went to go pick up a

prescription and when we got back cops were there. So, not sure what that

was about... maybe same thing? Fiance also said he knows of one other time

too. That one I know nothing about.

Sure wasn't out of vengeance or anything that I called. Only out of concern

for her & the kids. Hope she will not be all psycho about it.
