Guest guest
Mincemeat over jasmine rice? Is that the mincemeat that comes in a jar/box or is this homemade mincemeat? What's going on at your houses? How's your weather? How are YOU?It's a typical Saturday here in that the washing machine is going, dil is gardening, son is working around the property and the grandkids are playing. My son and dil are getting ready to go camping. They will only be gone 4 days but they are so excited. They like to camp out on forest land high in the mountains near Sunrise Lake. Sunrise is on the Apache Reservation and that's where they will fish. The trip is a working trip because my son will be cutting firewood to bring home to sell. There isn't much money in firewood sales here but my son still sells firewood on the side. The economy is still bad here with no recovery in sight and my son's regular business is still faltering badly with barely any jobs. So he does whatever he can to bring in some money. While they are gone I will be responsible for taking care of all the animals, except Cobra. They will put a big container of water and food over for Cobra before they leave. I will have to take care of the turkeys, chickens, ducks, barn cats, inside cats and our dogs. I have a couple of books picked out to read so I'm looking forward to the quiet:)Monday I will see the dentist. My bad tooth has been hurting a bit today so I'm glad to be seeing the dentist. It's not bad but is enough to remind me not to cancel my appointment! lolTonight I will make a family recipe for dinner--spanish rice. My grandkids have been asking for a banana cake. If the afternoon storm brings cool enough air I just might make a cake. We'll see....love to each of you. SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Homemade. With meat. My mom's recipe take some onion/garlic, sauteed a bit, add ground beef, cook till done, then make a small amount of gravy (flour/water whisked and add, don't add the lumps, just the liquid) and some milk, thickened with the flour/water) so that the gravy is medium, not too thick nor too thin, add some raisins (I like lots) and simmer till the raisins plump. My shortcut was to just add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a bit of water, because I am out of milk. Don't forget to drain off the fat, or most of it. She used uncle bens rice, but I just have jasmine and brown at this time, thought the jasmine would work, and it did. ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- what's happening at your house?
