Probiotic side effect or die off?

I gave my 2 yr old son probiotics. On the third day, his rashes disappeared but

he got a high fever with chills. How do I know if it's a die off or a negative

side effect? Disposition is ok, but he's a little weak from the fever and has no

appetite and doesn't want to drink liquids as much. He's also Constantly

touching his tongue which is a litte white now with Small red dots. He is non

verbal so that doesn't really help.

Any experience or info on this would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi ! I am not certain that the probiotics would ever cause illness, although yeast die off might present this way? Google that and see? My other big concern for you is that you immediately look up KAWASAKI DISEASE. My son is asd and adhd, now 5. He got KAWASAKI at age 2, an immune response to a virus, common in boys age 2-7, although a more rare illness. It is a very serious inflammation of the vascular system, and without hospitalization/ ivig treatments children can have heart damage. The only way we knew it was KAWASAKI for our landon was the telltale " strawberry " tongue and high fever lasting several days. Do not wait,.....keep his fever down at all times with an nsaid, and take him to urgent care or your pediatrician to get their opinion and admit to a children's hospital. Let me know how he is doing my dear, blessings to you. AlisabethSent from my HTC on the Now Network from Sprint! at the risk of being contrevesial...a high fever is not always a bad thing as long as the kids vitals are stable!

alert and responding at his normal level.

fever is how the bady cleans out and kills the stuff that causes horrible deseases. like what we are all dealing with every day chronic immune desease!

When my kids get fevers, 99% of the time, I do nothing. I like fevers. My guys probably need more of 'em. As long as they're not dehydrated and stay "with it", I let it be. I can't say for sure, though, that I'd have the same attitude if I had to worry about seizures.
