Guest guest
I am very pleased to announce a very special event coming up next month. I am a paramedic here in south Texas, and have been for many years. A former coworker of mine, Udele , experienced severe medical problems after a routine exam and is experiencing kidney failure. She is on dialysis three times a week, and has been unable to work as her health is declining. Another coworker of mine, Eloy Salazar, has agreed and has been approved to donate Udele one of his kidneys by the end of this year. This is one of the most selfless, and special acts of kindness and humanity that anyone could do for their fellow man. This exemplifies the the true spirit of our noble profession. We help others because we care, and because we know it is the right thing to do. As friends and coworkers of both of these wonderful individuals, we have prepared a fund-raising event to help both families defray some of the costs of transportation to and from San for the surgery and to help with lost wages during the recuperation period. I believe that we have allot to offer the general public and expect a very large turnout. We have a chicken Bar-B-Que plate dinner planned from 10:30 until last plate is sold. We have a raffle taking place at 4:00 until finished with many fine prizes donated by local merchants. And last, but not least, we will have five bands performing continuously from 5:00 until 11:00. The bands are all local groups including, Capital Crimes, Dead Sky, Avenue Rockers, The Booked, and headlining will be Six7teen now in Austin. All of these events are set to take place on December 13th at The Texan, 3625 S. Staples in Corpus Christi. We would be very pleased to have more of our collegues, departments, and organizations involved in this event. As you are well aware, the more people that are involved the better the response will be. We would like to promote and educate the general public on the organ donation process as well. I thank you in advance for your support and would ask you to contact me directly at , by email at summedic@... , or to contact the Eloy's wife Salazar, the promoter of this event at if you have any questions or suggestions. Live for today, tomorrow is not here yet and laugh at yourself often before someone else does. McGee, EMT-Paramedic
