Guest guest
Raine, I don't think it's automatic (at least not here in Canada anyway) to do an amnio; they might advise it but not do it automatically. The next CHARGE conf is in Orange County California in July 2007. More info can be found at www.chargesyndrome.org under " Conferences " . There's usually a registration fee of 120 dollars (plus your hotel/travel costs/etc) www.chargesyndrome.info > > hello > Now that they know which gene it is that causes charge do they > automaticly do a amnio or is at a parents request? Guest guest
> They cant detect charge in an amnio. You know what, the reacurrence rate is soooo low its only 1 or 2 percent. Its 1 or 2 percent weather you have a charge kid or not. Your chances of having a second charger dont go up. I am assuming you dont have charge yourself just that you are a parent of a charge child that passed on. Your chances are maby 1 to 2 percent that you will have a charge child again. That isnt any higher then your chances of the first child having CHARGE. If you add up all the chances of every possible genetic condition out there, its a wonder anyone has kids. As for what some may try and say a 50 percent chance of charge kid, that is ONLY for adults with charge. Dont let the numbers scare you. so many of the CHARGE kids have younger and older siblings not affected with CHARGE. Chantelle PS. Raine, I added you to my msn. -- My spelling's kinda wobbly. It's good spelling but the letters wobble and end up in the wrong places. - Winnie the Pooh My Blog Space: http://neutralufo.blogspot.com/

Guest guest
Is it safe to be honest about my childhood on this group?
Guest guest
I personally feel that its safe for me to share my thoughts and experiences here, because the members here have experienced abusive childhood treatment similar to my own, and because I am completely anonymous here. Annie is not my real name, I have an anonymous e-mail address, I don't share which part of my country I live in, or the kind of work I do for a living. That makes me feel safe. -Annie > > Is it safe to be honest about my childhood on this group? >
Guest guest
Personally, I feel safe with this group, but I've been on here for years. Feel free to hang out and just lurk for a while; you'll see we're pretty understanding. > > Is it safe to be honest about my childhood on this group? >
Guest guest
Hi kjkotrla, I have felt comfortable sharing here. There have been a few things that I was scared to share and had to work up the courage (or the wording I wanted to use). A warning though: if what you want to share is particularly graphic or sensitive in nature, please give members a heads up about the content before sharing. That way they can decide if they wish to proceed reading. > > Is it safe to be honest about my childhood on this group? >
Guest guest
> > Is it safe to be honest about my childhood on this group? > I am not sure what you mean by " safe. " If you are asking whether people will be supportive and understanding, then I think yes! I have always found a lot of validation and good information on this board. We all understand what it is like to have a BPD parent and have endured varying degrees of abuse. On the other hand, if in asking if the board is " safe, " you are concerned that your pwBPD might find your posts, I think it is important to follow the precautions the others have shared. Use an unrecognizable alias and email address, and never share details like people's real names or the name of your town, etc. Sveta
Guest guest
I've been on this board for about 4 years. I had one troubling experience where another member got upset with my advice. But that pales in comparison to the lifechanging help I have recieved here. THANK YOU ALL for the help. If I were you I would be very protective of my real identity, home location, and facts like where you work etc. Always use fake names etc. Welcome We can't wait to help you! > ** > > > > > > > > > Is it safe to be honest about my childhood on this group? > > > > I am not sure what you mean by " safe.
