Guest guest
Dar - I wish you and Wyatt the very best. I was waiting to respond to the heart of your post, however, Michele did such a beautiful job that I can only echo her post to you. After (our son with CHARGE) I truly learned that " this too shall pass " , and in the hard times in my life since I have an different uncertainty - I know we will make it through the circumstance and that all is as it is meant to be and that blessings will come of it, I am just not sure how I am going to get there. ) In the end I realize I will get there minute by minute, prayer by prayer - most prayers being simply " Thank you, God. " - opening me to the bounty of blessing still around me that I have lost seeing in my sadness. Our son has continuing challenges with his swallow and ability to eat by mouth and at 17 is still primarily tube fed (maybe you didn't want to hear that right now). However, I have to concur, he took incredible leaps of improvement at 2, 4 and 9 (hmm - these spurts coincide with typical " spiritedness " in children as well - I am sure it is not a coincidence!) and these improvement greatly improved his respiratory health and consequently his overall health and stamina. Many many families have had great success moving forward with persistence. I am sure they will reply shortly, and you can also search through the archived messages using keywords. Welcome and take good care- Yuka New to the group I was told by one of our ST's that typically these kids hit a turn for the better at the age of 2. We've been here a month now and I'm still waiting (no I'm not very patient when it comes to this anymore). We've already had 2 hospitalizations since then so I'm not hopeful.
