Hi everyone,

I have been looking for a good zinc supplement and there is always some crazy

ingredient in it or the dose is not right. A lot of parents recommended

different brands and I researched each ingredient. Finally based on a parent

recommendation, I think GNC zinc is a clean product. It is zinc gluconate

available in 30 and 50 mgs. Inactive ingredient is only cellulose which is hard

to believe as it is a tablet. I will call gnc and try to get more info on it. I

looked into other products and some contain magnesium stearate or vegetable

stearate which can cause immune dysfunction. Liquids contain potassium sorbate

which according to one study can cause mutagenic effect. Children who have

leucine metabolism issue cannot take supps with leucine. Thorne zinc contains

aspartic acid which has neurotoxic potential. If anyone has other better ideas,

please share. Its not like my son had bad reaction to any of these but I don't

want our kids to be exposed to any toxins on a regular basis as it defeats the

whole purpose of detox and healing. If anyone knows anything bad about GNC

products, please let me know.
