Mito Action Call --Autism and Mitochondrial Disease

Do you have specific questions about the connection between autism and

mitochondrial disease? Are you looking for support and accurate information?

Please join MitoAction on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)

for an informal discussion where callers will have an opportunity to ask their

questions, meet other families with diagnosed children and gain valuable

information.

The following people will be on the call:

Cristy Balcells, the director of MitoAction, a nurse, and mother of a daughter

diagnosed with Leigh's Disease.

Kathy Rivers, a pediatrician and mother of 3 children diagnosed with Mito. Her

son was also diagnosed with autism but he is no longer labeled ASD.

Alyssa Davi, advocate and mother of two boys diagnosed with Mito. Both her

children have caught up developmentally on the " mito cocktail. "

Calls on the link between ASD and mitochondrial disease take place every second

Tuesday of the month at 12:30 pm EST. To participate in this resource-share by

I missed this today...anyway I can get the notes from the call? My 12 yo son's

new doctor was reviewing some old lab tests and discovered something of great

interest to me...

On an Organic Acids test done in 2003, his ACONITIC levels were way high, in

addition to his 2-oxyglutaric acid levels. The doctor mentioned that the

excessive ACONITIC could represent a mitochondrial disease.

Just wondering if anyone else is familiar with this?
