Guest guest
So i wrote a project for a client. the Client is a doctor so he has a staff member interface with me. I got all the info I needed from the staff member. I sent him the project. . . and HE hated it!!! And not to brag or anything but Im very very good at what I do. I earned about 30K in coverage for a client last weekend in just one big day! Ive been doing this work for almost 15 years very very successfully. So anyway, it turned out that 90 percent of the problem was that the doctro did not like the facts I used in the news release. Guess where I got my facts? Straight direct quotes from the staff member. Do you think the staff memeber turned to the doctor and said I told her that based on XO? NO he did not. Nore did he apologize. He simply ignored me when I pointed it out, too. And then I presented him with guiding principals and a strategy a few weeks ago. Do you think he shared any of that? NOPE, so the doctor is stating that my whole strategy is off when he doesnt even know what it is. Hello bus underside - good thing for me that Im a master escape artist. Let me escape and then I will go exact my revenge (kidding) but it sucks ASSS!!! Believe u me all future conversations will be recorded. Its the BPD family survivor hyper vigilance, I find when i go with it, I feel a lot lot lot better and get thrown under the bus less often. Guest guest
What a bummer! (Dating myself, here. Yep, I'm a baby boomer.) I think that's a great idea to record or otherwise document any future interactions with this doctor's assistant. Back in an earlier phase of my career (after yet another " management reorganization " within the large company I worked for) I found myself in a rather hostile work environment. I discovered that I needed to start xeroxing the comment forms I'd turn in, to " cover my ass " , and that I also needed to stand up for myself regarding my work assignments. I'd be working on one " rush " job (a joke, because everything was a rush) when traffic would tell me to stop doing project #A, and start working on project #B instead because suddenly #B had higher priority. I didn't mind switching, but I DID mind very much getting yelled at by the owner of project #A, who would accuse me of being inept and/or lazy for not completing her project by the original due date! So... when a traffic person would come into my office to re-prioritize my work load, I would say something like, " Fine, it doesn't matter to me whose project I do first, but I want you to speak with Miss " A " right now (and I'd hand the traffic person my phone, I'd just dialed Miss " A " 's extension) and YOU tell Miss " A " that YOU just told me to work on Miss " B's " project instead of hers, and hers will be delayed. Go ahead. " And after a couple of those encounters, traffic stopped pulling that stunt on me. Ha! So, yes, document everything you can when you find yourself working for difficult people. -Annie > > So i wrote a project for a client. the Client is a doctor so he has a staff > member interface with me. Guest guest
Thanks Annie - its super lame. Doesn't help that the doc's assistant doesn't respond to e-mails. Which means my only way to talk to him is by phone. Which means that from now on I will be putting him on speaker and recording every word. When I told waif boss she goes " I overheard, you handled it well " and then turned and walked away while i was still trying to explain. She doesn't give a rats ass unless its her tail in the crack she never has and never will UGH On Mon, Aug 1, 2011 at 11:53 PM, anuria67854 wrote: > ** > > > What a bummer! (Dating myself, here.
