Guest guest
I just close my eyes real tight, sometimes they would put a cloth over them, and I always had head phones with whatever music I liked. The only time I had a problem was in one that was too small, and they stuffed me in there like a canolli, and when it was time to bring me out, my arms had stuck to the sides and my body wasn't moving out. I yelled at them to stop, and the tech got upset with me, and I finally was able to wiggle myself loose and he proceeded to get me out. So now I only use the open machines. I still have problems laying there for very long though because of the hardness of the table. Oh, and I won't have any contrast either and that makes them mad. I told them I had a bad reaction to it, but I guess some Dr's have to have you prove it to them. So I haven't had an MRI for years, and I figure because I'm not a candidate for any of the MS meds, why bother. There's nothing they can do for me other than what I already am doing. But the secret to having an MRI in my experience is to keep your eyes closed at ALL times while in there. :-) Hugs, Jackie Subject: Re: (nne) Re: QuestionTo: MSersLife Date: Saturday, January 22, 2011, 11:03 AM I'm sorry to hear you have MRI fears! I had one when I was having back problems and the onc wanted to be sure I didn't have cancer in my bones. Never ever again! He gave me 6 Ativan. Take 2 about 2 hrs before going, 2 more after that and if I still needed the last 2, 2 when we got to the hospital. So thats what I did. I have to say I was feeling really good!! But when I saw the MRI machine it was like someone threw a bucket of cold water over me. I got through it but barely and vowed no more. That was with my head not in the tube. That I could never handle even with 100 Ativan!!! I just can't tolerate anything anywhere near my face. Not even a scarf if its real cold out. So I will avoid the subject with the dr as long as possible.HugsnneTo the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world""May the Lord Bless you and keep you,May the Lord Make his face shine upon you, and give you Peace...Forever"Breast Cancer Patients Soul Mates for Lifehttp://breastcancerpatientssoulmatesforlife.bravehost.com/ Anxiety Depression and Breast Cancerhttp://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AnxietyDepressionandBreastCancerAngel Feather Loomerwww.angelfeatherloomer.blogspot.comThe Cancer Clubwww.cancerclub.com> Question> > Has anyone ever heard that fibromyalgia has a connection to MS? Guest guest
It wouldn't work for me to close my eyes. Just thought of something close to my face makes my heart race and forget putting anything over my face. That would be the end of them!!
