Guest guest
I have a daughter, 18yo w/charge. She goes to deaf school. She has some additional problems. I worry about her future. She is aware of some things but will always have problems with others. If anyone has an older child it would be great for me. She has some brain damage from birth,it affects all her math abilities(money, bills...) she is prof deaf, has a cochlear implant, it gives her hearing, but no useable speech, she takes meds for hormones, and she will need another open heart surg. this spring for tet. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much
Guest guest
Hi, welcome to the list! Glad you found us; I look forward to hearing more about your daughter. My daughter is only 8 so we haven't encountered the adult issues yet, but I know there are many on the list who are very interested in them. There was a paper published recently about Adult Issues in CHARGE Syndrome. Please email at kawfolks@... and I'll send you a copy. http://www.chargesyndrome.info > > I have a daughter, 18yo w/charge. Guest guest
Hiya! My name is Chip Dixon, I'm 27 yrs old mild CHARGEr from Los Angeles, California. I got a couple of friends that went to/still goes tot the deaf school of Riverside, and half of them got CHARGE too! I also got Growth Hormone Defiency, slow weight gain, and also slow puberty too! (I'm around 5.6 ft tall, currently weighing around 85 lbs, more or less. But, I look more like a teenager than an adult). I'm hard of hearing and near sighted too. What is your name and your daughter name? What is the name of that deaf school? Which states are you guys from? I also got the same problems with math and bill skills too! I don't know if I got some kind of learning disability or not, but I do know there are stuff I'm not good at (like math for example), I also like to draw and color (most of my drawings looks like children or cartoon drawings, lol), I like reading and typing stories too! You can email me at: k9_Charger@... and also at: K9_Charger@... Keep in touch, take care! Chip dolphinp24 wrote: I have a daughter, 18yo w/charge. She goes to deaf school.
