I will, . OLE was a silver bullet for us 5 yrs ago it just failed to give the wow! this time. I'm really encouraged to be increasing the dose. We were using the same dose we did 5 yrs back at nearly half his current body weight. Thanks so much for throwing that fact out there when you did. My son is about 130lbs and I remember I calculated that to be around 5 NP's per day. I divide the dose. He's had NO burp back from it...nearly unheard of for him! Good luck to you and lets stay in touch. To: mb12valtrex Sent: Friday, October 14, 2011 11:24 AMSubject: Re: Re: Curcumin and Inflammation

Thanks Gayle! We tried neuroprotek and did not see much but he only took 1 per day. Maybe I'll revisit. Let me know how the OLE increase works out for him. That stuff has been really a winner for us :)Thanks,Sent from my iPhone

Hi , he takes 5 NeuroProtek per day and actually I'm about to bump that to 6. We did a short Enhansa trial about a year ago. He was really in a bad place when I introduced it and he had a classic Herx. He's a Herx kid when he's in a severe state, takes very little to sink his ship that is already going down. This week, I bumped OLE 20% to 2250mg per day (split to TID dosing), up from 1500mg per day and in another 7-10 days barring problems I'll add another NP per day. From:

sarah Do you have to give both Lutimax and Neuroprotek? If i can afford only one, which one do you suggest me to give. Both are very pricey. Thanks Tunde

Same here. I tried Enhansa first which was great for bringing my son out of brain fog. On Lutimax and Neuroprotek (Luteolin) he just more attentive, responsive, follows directions, stays on task, interacts more, is doing better academically in school.

Both products are keepers. Right now, I need something that helps with hyperactivity.

Right now we're just doing Lutimax only. For a while I tried Neuroprotek but went back to Lutimax. My son seems to do better on Lutimax. The ingredient Lutelin is in both products but there may be more in Lutimax.

Right now we're just using Lutimax for inflammation but I was thinking of adding an anti-viral (Vira-stop). Viruses could be what's triggering the inflammation.

For a while I was following the NIDS protocol and had my son on an anti fungal Fluconzol (sp?) as well as Valtrex. He's not currently on an anti fungal sine he doesn't have severe GI issues though I may put him on probiotics again to maintain stomach health.

,I can tell you what I've discovered along the way and hopefully this will give you the basis to figure out dosing, etc:1. It's not the dose, it's the concentration of oleoruepin (sp?- active ingredient It needs to be 20%. ( 18% is ok but less effective) many brands have this concentration. The lee silsby pharmacy ones are good- thorne, etc. Swanson sells one I love- super strength 750 mg caps for like 10 bucks. The Barleans liquid OLE complex is really good too- you need less because concentration is high. I use the Super Strength 2 x per day for 62 lb 11 y o along with a dose of either barleans or a silsby OLE. 2. In our house, changing brands periodically helps keep him from developing a resistance.I hope this helps! Sent from my iPhonensoste

We have used both curcumin and tumeric. Both worked, and it appears

that effectiveness depended more on the dose being high enough as

compared to which type we used. We have used various brands, and the

dose amount seemed to matter more than which brand.

We have used Lutimax. It works really well too. But, for it, we also

needed to use enough, so it really didn't work if we tried to be skimpy

on it. I think the recommendation is to use a lot the first month, then

you can decrease it down slowly. I guess you will be able to see at

what point the dose is too low. It comes with directions on how to use.

Hi Heidi,My son is one that is sensitive to almost all naturals.I

tried all those brands and all made him sick with starting with very

small amounts(about one third caps).Would you say in my case to jump

Hi everyone

I have been reading in to this correspondence with interest ! Interested in

Enhansa/circumin inflammation responses, and have pegged it for later use.

One thing that puzzles me is the preferential use of OLE when my Biomed Dr says

she doesn't want us to use it, as it kills Ecoli, that makes lots of goodies

like CoQ10 etc. Has anyone else heard of this? or am I going over old stuff.

Sorry if I am. and sorry to butt in.

cheers

about 130lbs and I remember I calculated that to be around 5 NP's per day. I

divide the dose. He's had NO burp back from it...nearly unheard of for him! Good

luck to you and lets stay in touch.

, I don't think there's such thing as "butting in" here. Share away. I've never heard that.

I didn't know ecoli makes coq10. My son tested low for e.coli. I've gotta go snoop around.....thanks!

Hi everyoneI have been reading in to this correspondence with interest ! Interested in Enhansa/circumin inflammation responses, and have pegged it for later use.One thing that puzzles me is the preferential use of OLE when my Biomed Dr says she doesn't want us to use it, as it kills Ecoli, that makes lots of goodies like CoQ10 etc. Has anyone else heard of this? or am I going over old stuff. Sorry if I am. and sorry to butt in.cheers> > >> > > I will, . OLE was a silver bullet for us 5 yrs ago it just failed to give the wow! this time. I'm really encouraged to be increasing the dose. I have not heard of this, but it would certainly be relevant for those with mitochondrial disorder.Sent from my iPhone

Mito issues are suspected in my son given the presentation of certain symptoms outside of his PANDAS cluster, not the least of which is the fact that the older he gets the more he presents like my fibromyalgia patients including significant sensitivity to barometric pressure drops. Maybe a trial of CoQ10 is in order. , thanks for throwing that fact out there. I had no idea about it and will investigate it further. ~ GayleTo: mb12valtrex Sent: Monday, October 17, 2011 10:25 AMSubject: Re: Re: Curcumin and Inflammation

I have noticed the sensitivity to barometric pressure in my son who is 16, he never had a problem with this before but starting in the spring I noticed this. Does CoQ10 help with this?

I used to be pretty much bedridden every time it was about to rain. I

accidentaly discovered that when I take Goji capsules (real fruit in

capsules like a herb), I don't have this problem. It doesn't work right

away in that I can not take it after symptoms start and expect to get

well 20 minutes later, but if I take it daily, like a preventative, the

weather no longer effects me. I have no idea why. No other supplement

has ever done this, and I have tried many. It's more than just the

anti-inflammatory effect. I have another family member who takes Goji

everyday to avoid getting migraines when it rains. It's darn right

amazing. I no longer have to fear the rain. When I run out, the

symptoms return, so it's definitely working.

Love and prayers,

My son never had this sensitivity until this last PANDAS exacerbation. He was just about to turn 16 when it happened. Now there is an indisputable link between the weather and his symptom presentation...anxiety, ocd, gut pain (inflammatory). Epsom salts baths help and even tho the kid vehemently denies the weather has anything to do with it (I have the med journals that prove otherwise), he will draw himself a bath now at the first sign of his symptoms returning especially on cold, rainy, unstable weather days. He will also ask for Advil and when I ask if he has a headache, he'll say, "No, I just don't feel right." He's learned that on more challenging days the advil does help take the edge off. Bach's Rescue Remedy spray is in his backpack for school. He's finally starting to get it that Bach's isn't a silver bullet but it can

give him the little help he needs to get through some days. It doesn't always work but I'm overjoyed to see him applying measures to mediate anxiety rather than just going down like a sinking ship. All of this has only come about in the last year or so as he's gotten older. I'll do some digging on CoQ10 within my highly educated fibromyalgia client base and will post it if I learn anything of value. Just go to your favorite place to buy herbs and supplements, and they

will probably sell Goji in capsules, just like it was a herb or something.

Love and prayers,

Heidi N
