Guest guest
Oh! Akiba, I do so wish that my intuition about that charminglandlady had been all wrong! I was suspicious from the beginning. . .I so hope that your new landlady--lawnmowers notwithstanding--honors the terms of your lease and the law.You and Robbin deserve better. Crossing my legs and my armsfor your safety and sanity until Rob leaves. You are one brave woman, and one terrific mother!Love to you and to Robbin,nFrom: Akiba To: MSersLife Sent: Fri, August 6, 2010 9:12:25 AMSubject: Re: moved It's ok, quiet (except for the incessant drone of lawnmowers). We're now totally out of the house, and I am pretty pissed at Mel. She had asked for a $200 pet deposit, which we gave her. Then when I asked for it BACK, she said it WASN'T a pet deposit, it was a CLEANING deposit, then she shows up there this morning with a cleaning crew, before I told her we were out and before I even had a CHANCE to clean! And legally I didn't even HAVE to be out of the place before the 12th, I got out early to make it easier for her! I could have fought it and made her evict me, which would have taken MONTHS! I am pretty ticked at that, I could have used the $200, especially now with all the crap I have to deal with (Rob being big in the crap pile...oh, he helps, but his attitude and having to deal with him....stinks! ) And she is trying to make trouble for me, she told Rob, this morning, that she had a whole crew ready to move me...which she did NOT, and if she DID, she neglected to mention it to ME, so now he's all pissed that he had to do it all himself (never mind that *I* packed the whole house) ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- Re: moved Yum. Guest guest
I KNOW she lied about the poop, Razzie is 6 and has not gone outside of the litterbox in her entire life. I told her she'd better be taking pictures of it with her when she goes to court, and that she'd better not try and poop and take pics because I know the difference. I can be nasty when riled. When we got here yesterday, I didn't have her litterbox. I did locate the litter (the box is still not here, Rob stowed all of the extra stuff in the van, still parked there, it isn't working and he will have to tow it here) and put some in a regular box (I lined it) and the second I put her in she started scratching and used it. So tell ME that cat went on the carpet! ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- Re: moved Yum. Guest guest
A $200 cleaning deposit? That's fishy. Is it spelled out in the rental agreement? I suppose it can exist but I haven't heard of such a thing before.Dan U dao_nguu@...
Guest guest
Cat poop in the bedroom? Sounds silly. If there's no fee for filing in small claims, go for it. Based on what you've posted here, she had you move early without giving you the chance to clean the place. And, then charges you for cleaning. Did she take photos of the cat stain? If not, it'll be her word against yours.Dan U dao_nguu@... Guest guest
It wasn't a cleaning deposit, it was a pet deposit. It only *just* transmogrified into a cleaning deposit. And then vanished. Neat trick, if you can manage it. ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- RE: / it's just got to be better with a new lease at new place A $200 cleaning deposit? That's fishy. Guest guest
There are such things as non-refundable pet deposits for cleaning. But, it should have been spelled out in the agreement.Dan U dao_nguu@...
