Guest guest
Can anyone please comment on beetroot juice. It is said to give us instant stamina, clean kidneys. But the flip side is that it issugar. isn't it illegal in SCD, promote bad bacteria in gut and raise insuline in blood?Ratan.-----------Ratan Singh, Phone: 91 141 2652561, mail: ratanpsych@...- Certificate in Food & Nutrition; Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education; Life Member, Nutrition Soc. of India; Member ISOM- Author of "Nutrition & Supplements in Major Mental Illnesses";- M.A. (Psychol), Postgraduate Diploma in Medical & Social Psychology, Ph.D.;- Certified Behavior Therapist (from late Prof. J. Guest guest
I do know that the most beets is USA are genetically modified and it is not recommended if is not organic and non GMO(genetically modified) just like corn and soy.I'm not sure about its root I do know that beets are very nutritious and make you healthy in many ways, they do have sugar just like carrots have and still are beneficious for you. I do get them once per week in my sons juice, is not his favorite, but still gets it.Just my comment.Sasha To: mb12valtrex Sent: Friday, April 13, 2012 10:24:26 AM Subject: RE: Beetroot juice: pro and con Can anyone please comment on beetroot juice. Guest guest
Beetroot came up on a listI have of foods high in sulfur. My son has the CSB mutation and i am pretty sure my daughter does too. I notice when they hit their sulfur food limit and start having behavior/communication issues (my NT 2year old normally speaks really well unless she has had too much sulfur/phenol foods)....one small bite of chocolate at Easter put them both over the edge. We have to be very careful with the antifungal/antibacterial herbals too bc most have phenol/sulfur/sulfites....so we are trying to watch sulfur foods (and honestly beets aren't my favorite;) To: "mb12valtrex " <mb12valtrex > Sent: Saturday, April 14, 2012 12:55 PM Subject: Re: Beetroot juice: pro and con I do know that the most beets is USA are genetically modified and it is not recommended if is not organic and non GMO(genetically modified) just like corn and soy.I'm not sure about its root I do know that beets are very nutritious and make you healthy in many ways, they do have sugar just like carrots have and still are beneficious for you. Guest guest
I mean, no foods are inherently "good" or "bad", in my opinion. For those who are out of balance and would be overwhelmed by the natural sugars in beet root, it wouldn't be appropriate. (we are on advanced gaps, fwiw). Being a longtime juicer, I do love the liver and kidney cleansing properties that you can FEEL. Beet root literally cleans your blood. Love kvass made from beet root. Consider it as a lower sugar option. http://www.thelovevitamin.com/3093/how-to-make-beet-kvass-another-one-of-my-fermented-delights/JeanOn Apr 14, 2012, at 12:55 PM, S M wrote: I do know that the most beets is USA are genetically modified and it is not recommended if is not organic and non GMO(genetically modified) just like corn and soy.I'm not sure about its root I do know that beets are very nutritious and make you healthy in many ways, they do have sugar just like carrots have and still are beneficious for you. Guest guest
Hi Cristine,Try googling Dr. Amy Yasko and you should find a better explanation on CBS mutations and the other genetic mutations that can affect detoxification. For sulfur overload, we see increased hyperactivity, hard time falling asleep, poorer language and auditory processing.Hope this helps!megan To: mb12valtrex Sent: Saturday, April 14, 2012 9:44 PM Subject: Re: Beetroot juice: pro and con , What is CSB mutation?
