Guest guest
Sorry that I haven't been around in quite awhile.. my undertaken music project was a little more involved than I thought it would be... not harder, just more involved.. tons of songs on his cassettes that I didn't recognize at first.. had to figure out what they were and such.. Been working on the music.. and any music that needs doing for the funeral home.. had a couple of less than easy requests recently.. got those done.. Been informed that I'm a grandma.. have been for two years.. but the more it's looked at.. the more it's becoming clear that I'm not actually a grandma.. and there where that DRAMA begins.. and it is DRAMA... But I was reading last night.. did a search on EPO.. during an episode of "House".. then found out it did something for neuronal damage.. so started to look at what that might mean for US.. and then FOUND a page with research being done in Europe and such concerning cognitive issues for MSers.. then found a couple of pages that I'd like to share with you guys.. This is where I was reading about some of the research being done: http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm/fuseaction/show/pageid/1264 Great articles about the research.. a bit technical.. but educational nonetheless... scroll toward the bottom where you find CogniFit coaches MS patients to improve memory & cognition And there will be a test drive for a program designed for keeping our cognition up to par.. it however costs 19.95 per month.. I'm not sure how I went about finding these other three sites.. but there are three more websites out there that offer nearly the same thing as CogniFit.. but their offerings are free.. and web-based.. Just have to sign up for this one (I think so they can track progress and keep the program rolling upward) http://www.happy-neuron.com/tools/ Was tired when I tried it out.. pretty kewl.. but I didn't do real well on the scoring.. going back for more today now that I'm rested to see how I do.. Haven't tried these other two as of yet.. but intend to today sometime http://www.lumosity.com/ and http://www.fitbrains.com/brain-games/ But I just wanted to drop in and say HEY to everyone.. Let everyone know that I'm still alive and kicking over here in my corner of the world.. And let you know.. that I am going to try and read my way through all the emails that have stacked up while I've been busy doing other things.. Seems it's either Feast or Famine when it comes for things to keep me busy.. Love Ya All.. Miss Ya Too HUGS |)onna

Guest guest
Well.. I had been hearing, off and on, that I was supposed to be, but he doubted it.. then when he was over with a friend of his... though the kid is a little on the " loose screw " side.. he kept telling Earl that it wasn't his kid... then Earl saying prolly not. in his usual tone of voice.. well... I didn't know one way or ta-other.. Then he brings this gal by here.. and leaves her with me for whole days on end.. (she doesn't talk, just myspace chats alot..).. Earl's been working down at the funeral home with .. he's repairing & painting some caskets that were damaged in shipping and stuff.. I'm finally told that yup.. I'm a grandmother and that the baby is soon to be 2 years old!.. she rapidly shows me some pictures posted to her myspace page.. asking " doesn't he look just like Earl? " .. and well they went by way to rapidly for the baby to look like anything but a blur.. I got her to " friend " me on her myspace (Earl colluded with me).. so that I could actually DOWNLOAD the pictures to my computer and look at them at leisure.. When I looked at those pictures.. there was NO way the baby, even in someone's deepest imagination, resembled Earl.. Then I thought I recalled something about Earl saying something in the past about him seeing a girl who's boyfriend tried to kill her... That OF COURSE.. raised the curiosity level here.. so I started digging.. Let's see... Found the newspaper article about the guy who tried.. well actually did set fire to the trailer she was in, along with his brother's girlfriend and his brother's son.. and that he attacked the fire person and threatened a state police officer with his prosthetic leg.. Her name is clearly IN the newspaper article.. This is one of the articles: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/fayette/s_537862.html A bit more snooping and it didn't take much to convince me of the fact that this child is NOT my grandson.. he looks too much like the guy who is now in prison.. and some quick addition from Nov 2007 to Aug 2008.. makes it even more unbelievable that I have a grandson.. And then darn.. somehow a keylogger found its way onto my laptop.. (the computer she was using while she was here.. <evil smirk>) and well the conversations that she held with other people.. including GUYS (while she's staying with Earl).. and she's got absolutely nothing nice to say about Earl.. at all even a little bit ever.. She doesn't have physical custody of her son.. her parents won't allow her to take him.. and I'm not sure their real fond of her even being around him.. don't think they'll allow her to stay at their house because she has some real real bad habits.. I spent the largest parts of the days she was here with a contact high.. only didn't realize right away that I was getting that contact high.. some days my meds mess a bit with my head.. as does the MonSter.. And recently (like Sunday) when she was trying to get him to let her come back to his house.. she tried everything she could think of to " guilt " him into letting her come back there.. (Fortunately, Bill was in agreement with me when it came to the whole situation.. and HE put his foot down on that.. so Earl didn't have to be the complete " bad guy " in that scenario) But she did have the nerve to try a.. " Well, I can change the baby's dad right quick! " .. and when Earl told me that one.. I was like.. ummm.. yeah.. how's she gonna do that?.. cause she never mentioned the other possibility at the paternity hearing.. and Earl didn't bother to talk to either his dad or me before going to this hearing.. and got waylaid bigtimerealbad.. and then she asked him if he wanted to sign his " rights " away to the baby.. Told Earl to tell her to " go for it " .. just make sure that you know and that it's in the paperwork that I'm signing that when I give up my rights.. I stop paying child support.. THAT changed her tune immediately!! I don't think that kid has ever seen a penny of Earl's child support.. they hand out bank type cards for that stuff in PA now too.. and SHE gets that card... and she doesn't live with or anywhere near her son.. sooooo... So that's the scoop on being a grandma.. at least until I find out just how he goes about calling into dispute the counties domestic relations department's methods of proving paternity.. supposedly it's DNA with mouth swabs.. BUT it wasn't in a hospital or lab setting and it wasn't a nurse or technician performing the swab.. and all three of the were in the same room together when the testing was done... And I know this is going to sound completely off the wall and grasping at straws.. BUT in this case.. DNA could be lying.. (the results only said he couldn't be excluded from being the father).. but the fact that.. before she was adopted.. her biological last name also happens to be in OUR family tree.. and while doing the family tree I've found that if I hadn't been my son's mother to start with.. I'd have still been distantly related as a cousin.. one of them 7th the 9th.. but offhand can't say which was which.. and both of my boys had different fathers.. And yeah.. it does sound lame.. but I'm betting that there might still be some truth to my theory.. My great-great-great grandmother had TWENTY children that survived (in the early 1800's).. by the time she passed away she had over 200 grandchildren.. AND there were only 5 or 6 originating families in the mountain area my dad is from.. they settled that area.. during Indian uprisings and all that stuff... and Earl's dad's family is from the very same mountain.. as were the biological parents of this gal.. so.... I guess I'm not a grand-mommy after all... Sharon wrote: > > > I'm glad to hear from you Donna. So what is the scoop on being a > grandma? > > Sharon > This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
I do so try to ignore the flares.. cause I KNOW that the minute I walk into an ER.. the symptoms are going to stop.. just like with the kid with the temperature of 104 and completely... oh what's that word.. begins with an " L " .. keep wanting to type lackadaisical and then the real one I want just flies right in one ear and out ta-other.. just barely letting me glimpse it.. Lethargic... that's it.. LOL.. Ya know.. kid's like that.. you hit the ER doors and they are up running around reeking havoc!!! making the other sick people, smile & wave and chuckle all the while thinking your some crazed hypochondriac-ical mother... BUT I do see the neurologist on Tuesday.. and I'm almost betting that he's going to invite me to stay with them for a 3 to 5 day visit.. and I'll get to bring home another 20 pounds or so with me before all is said and done.. He's also going to give me the dickens, cause I stopped taking the Copaxone.. not that I don't just love the beejeebers outta that stuff.. cause I do.. and IF I could be absolutely positively 100% sure I wasn't starting to have a necrotic reaction at the injection site.. I'd go back on it.. but I'm still not convinced that it wasn't the beginning of something nasty.. so.... Guest guest
one summer day when my least one was 18 months old I went into St Louis to see my mil - I took both boys with me - I made St Louis calls to save my long distant bill - the boys had gone out in the back yard to play with the dogs - as I was talking I heard the other one yell MOM - I threw the phone down and ran for the back terrace - a swarm of bees came out of the rock lower patio and was swarming the boys - my mil and the neighbor ran out of their house - MIL is so allergic to bees - no honey I took a deep breath and ran down the back steps grabbed the little one and hauled my rear up the other side of the yard to the back gate screaming kid attached with super glue my mil grabbed the keys and was in the car before me - I jumped in the back holding the least one - we broke every speed limit the 20 miles to St ph's ER we ran in me with a screaming kid and they pried him out of my arms - not a good thing - they tried to get paperwork started - then the ER staff came and got me they learned the hard way not to separate us - the two of us ate benydryl pills for 3 days at Mom's and then went home To: MSersLife Sent: Wed, August 11, 2010 11:46:06 AMSubject: Re: Long Overdue Update... and saying HEY!!! Guest guest
I've seen those types of trips as well.. unfortunately within two weeks or so of each other I had Earl there TWICE.. once he turned, as he was being warned, and ran smack dab into the Kerosene heater.. putting both hands down on the top... he other was when he was getting rambunctious in the living room, and someone had moved the organ stool BACK under the keyboard, leaving the foot pedals (those long ones) exposed.. he tripped and fell.. cut his eyebrow.. couple of stitches to close it up.. BUT I HAD the luck of getting the same lady at the " intake " window both trips.. the looks I got!!!... This is the kid that while misbehaving in a garage tripped and fell backwards over a couple of tires in the garage (a real garage not our home garage type thing).. fractured his middle finger.. than ran around school flipping everyone his splinted bird.. cause he could.. He also had a buckle fracture of his thumb from playing touch football with the neighborhood kids.. and a fracture in the growth plate of his foot from a large lady falling on him in one of those jumpy blow up things.. at a church picnic.. We had the bee sting episode with the older of the two.. and THEN all the while laughing.. the landlady said.. OH I meant to tell you about the yellow jacket nest under the rim of the swimming pool!.. I coulda strangled her.. And isn't something how they always say not to get between a momma bear & her cub... they should probably warn against getting between momma humans and their cubs even more so.. Guest guest
So a DNA test was done that doesn't exclude Earl. Is this girl involved with CPS? I know here in Arizona CPS will order paternity tests and will pay for them. They are done at genetics labs. I think further testing is in order here especially since Earl is paying child support for a baby that may, or may not, be his. Has he ever seen this child? What a mess for you and Earl!hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. I spent the largest parts of the days she was here with a contact high.. only didn't realize right away that I was getting that contact high.. some days my meds mess a bit with my head.. as does the MonSter..And recently (like Sunday) when she was trying to get him to let her come back to his house.. she tried everything she could think of to "guilt" him into letting her come back there.. (Fortunately, Bill was in agreement with me when it came to the whole situation.. and HE put his foot down on that.. so Earl didn't have to be the complete "bad guy" in that scenario)But she did have the nerve to try a.. "Well, I can change the baby's dad right quick!".. and when Earl told me that one.. I was like.. ummm.. yeah.. how's she gonna do that?.. cause she never mentioned the other possibility at the paternity hearing.. and Earl didn't bother to talk to either his dad or me before going to this hearing.. and got waylaid bigtimerealbad.. and then she asked him if he wanted to sign his "rights" away to the baby.. Told Earl to tell her to "go for it".. just make sure that you know and that it's in the paperwork that I'm signing that when I give up my rights.. I stop paying child support.. THAT changed her tune immediately!!I don't think that kid has ever seen a penny of Earl's child support.. they hand out bank type cards for that stuff in PA now too.. and SHE gets that card... and she doesn't live with or anywhere near her son.. sooooo...So that's the scoop on being a grandma.. at least until I find out just how he goes about calling into dispute the counties domestic relations department's methods of proving paternity.. supposedly it's DNA with mouth swabs.. BUT it wasn't in a hospital or lab setting and it wasn't a nurse or technician performing the swab.. and all three of the were in the same room together when the testing was done...And I know this is going to sound completely off the wall and grasping at straws.. I'd have still been distantly related as a cousin.. one of them 7th the 9th.. but offhand can't say which was which.. and both of my boys had different fathers..And yeah.. it does sound lame.. but I'm betting that there might still be some truth to my theory.. My great-great-great grandmother had TWENTY children that survived (in the early 1800's).. by the time she passed away she had over 200 grandchildren.. AND there were only 5 or 6 originating families in the mountain area my dad is from.. they settled that area.. during Indian uprisings and all that stuff... and Earl's dad's family is from the very same mountain.. as were the biological parents of this gal.. so....I guess I'm not a grand-mommy after all...Sharon wrote:>>> I'm glad to hear from you Donna. Guest guest
Sharon, Yes, there was a DNA test done, and Earl told me that the paper Domestic Relations showed him (and gave him a copy of, but he doesn't remember where he put it) a paper that said the results Do Not Exclude him.. and yes, they performed the test.. but it wasn't in a lab. (Wouldn't surprise me if it was one of those off the shelf tests one can buy at Walgreens.. but Fayette County is Fayette County and there's not much that can be said in favor of them).. Yup.. he is paying for a child that may or may not be his.. and the child doesn't see any benefit from that money either.. it all seems to go up in smoke... Bill & he both saw the baby, when it was a baby.. but only a couple of times.. Right now she's holding over his head... him being a deadbeat dad (he's paying what was ordered.. might not be much, but it's what was ordered).. and keeps telling him that if he wants to see his child he'll go out and get a job, rather than sitting on unemployment.. And as long as he's collecting, he's not seeing.. But I'm not sure she's really got any say in the matter.. Her adoptive parents are raising this child.. I think I'll check into CPS.. up here CYS, and see if I can get them involved.. I'm pretty sure that there should be something he can do to "unestablish" his paternity in this mess.. just gotta figure out which hoops to jump through and in which order.. LOL.. Guest guest
I seem to notice more and more little children, in the baby seat of a shopping cart, tilt their head out around mom or dad and do those cute little waves.. but then, I'm a grown person in wheelchair.. under their height.. LOL.. But kids have always collected around my house... Not sure why.. could be the paperplate washer in the kitchen... could be the hairy red arm reaching out of the closed washing machine in the basement could be the coloring books & crayons could be they just recognize another kid.. no matter what their size.. Guest guest
I don't believe that Earl has talked to them.. and he sez it's cause one of them would end up killing the other.. most likely her dad killing him type deal.. but I think that might be complete hogwash.. cause I'm of a mind that "little missy" is feeding him tons of BS.. and he's buying it.. I'd have to ask him or Bill if either of them have spoken to her parents.. I haven't because I just found out about the whole thing.. and I"m not real sure, as of yet, how to broach the subject.. But I'm contemplating on that one.. and trying to control what I want to do and say.. so gotta get my head screwed on correctly before I dig into this one.. I'm just not as keen in the "tact" department as I used to be.. And I'm not sure why she's getting the money.. When Bud was little, his support checks came to my parents.. for that matter the medical card he had and the cash assistance he received came to my dad.. (Guess they forgot that I became emancipated the day Bud was born, even though I was 16.. course I didn't know that back then either.. LOL).. I was just reading on their website about the "cards" that get recharged with the child support.. Don't know if Domestic Relations forwards the child support to the Dept. of Public Welfare to be forwarded on to the mother anymore or not.. been out of "that" system for over 20 years... way over 20.. Unfortunately, the HIPPA act does have some flaws.. if I call Domestic Relations they aren't going to talk to me.. I need to contact them this week and find out if they help enforce "grandparents" rights as well... if they do, then maybe that's my "in" for getting other things accomplished.. But it's hard to work with small bits of information.. and Earl is not one to "share" his innermost thoughts & secrets type things... Need to actually get together with Bill and see what information he might have concerning all of this as well.. and then decide how to proceed... Well, it will all work out, one way or ta-other.. It's really hard to decide how to proceed.. IF I thought this were my actual grandchild.. I'd proceed like a charging bull.. And I'm pretty sure, if he were my grandson.. I would feel something for him.. even if just looking at pictures.. but I don't.. and that's got me a bit confuzzled.. Is it the time invested in knowing you have a granchild arriving in the near future that brings out those feelings.. or am I abnormal for not just gushing with love when informed that I have a 2 year old grandson.. Again.. time will work it all out.. HUGS |)onna If the grandparents have the child why the heck does SHE get the money!?! Guest guest
Does PA recognize Grandparents Rights? I know some states do and others do not. Even when a state does recognize GP rights they may have restrictions on what is/is not a "right". Good luck getting this all straightened out. Paternity test results always are confusing but I know when I worked at CPS if the results said a person could not be excluded then we considered it a positive paternity test.good luck with all of this!hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. To: MSersLife Sent: Fri, August 13, 2010 9:06:31 AMSubject: Re: Long Overdue Update... and saying HEY!!! Have you or your son ever talked to the grandparents? hugs Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. LOL.. HUGS |)onna ----- Original Message ----- From: Sharon To: MSersLife Sent: Wednesday, August 11, 2010 3:15 PM Subject: Re: Long Overdue Update... and saying HEY!!! What a mess for you and Earl! hugs Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. I had been hearing, off and on, that I was supposed to be, but he doubted it.. then when he was over with a friend of his... though the kid is a little on the "loose screw" side.. he kept telling Earl that it wasn't his kid... then Earl saying prolly not. in his usual tone of voice.. I'm a grandmother and that the baby is soon to be 2 years old!.. she rapidly shows me some pictures posted to her myspace page.. asking "doesn't he look just like Earl?".. and well they went by way to rapidly for the baby to look like anything but a blur.. I got her to "friend" me on her myspace (Earl colluded with me).. so that I could actually DOWNLOAD the pictures to my computer and look at them at leisure.. And recently (like Sunday) when she was trying to get him to let her come back to his house.. she tried everything she could think of to "guilt" him into letting her come back there.. (Fortunately, Bill was in agreement with me when it came to the whole situation.. and HE put his foot down on that.. so Earl didn't have to be the complete "bad guy" in that scenario) But she did have the nerve to try a..
