Guest guest
There is no known toxicity for melatonin. Just increase the dose every 3 days until your child falls asleep in 20 minutes in a sleep encouraging environment. Magnesium is calming so that's probably why they have it together. It's typically not toxic if you are also taking calcium at the same time when taking higher doses. Too much magnesium will also cause loose stools. My concern would be how much magnesium are you getting in your other supplements - like your multi and such. Typically anything over 5mg offers no more efficacy but for some it does. You'll probably be at around 2-3 mg.I use Source Naturals which you can get from your local HFS.Some people have the opposite effect and won't be able to sleep and have anxiety.Waking up in the middle of the night is usually not an effect of the melatonin (in my house, night waking s yeast). ~ Antiviral Therapy 101~ gryffinstail.wordpress.com/ ~~ @Gryffins_Tail ~ I have an 8 yr old boy who needs melatonin to sleep. Guest guest
3 mg's of melatonin is safe. You might want to try to bump it up to see if he'll sleep through the night. Yeast, clostridia and parasites may cause night waking but it could also just be a matter of requiring more melatonin. I know it can cause very vivid dreams. My son(9 yrs. old) has been on 3 mg's of melatonin a night since February. Yesterday was the first of only two times he has ever recalled a dream. He also takes 400+ mg's of magnesium a day with no recourse. Magnesium was actually one of the first biomed guns I tried with him and it was (and still is) AWESOME. hth, Tammy To: mb12valtrex Sent: Friday, October 14, 2011 3:24 PMSubject: Melatonin dosage I have an 8 yr old boy who needs melatonin to sleep. Guest guest
We are on a B6 kick with the HPU/Klinghardt protocol info, so let me add in that B6 (taken in the form of p5p at night, and any cheaper form in the morning) can also help with sleep. It also enhances dream recall. " Vitamin B6 is required for the production of seratonin, a brain neurotransmitter that controls mood, appetite, sleep patterns, and sensitivity to pain. A vitamin B6 deficiency can eventually lead to insomnia and malfunctioning of the central nervous system. " My browser just crashed the website that this came from, but it was a general vitamin info website. Magnesium was actually one of the first biomed guns I tried with him and it was (and still is) AWESOME. >  > hth, > Tammy >  >  > > > To: mb12valtrex > Sent: Friday, October 14, 2011 3:24 PM > Subject: Melatonin dosage > > >  > I have an 8 yr old boy who needs melatonin to sleep.
