Hi everyone,......an update about my sons dog Nugget. The gal called tonight and gave him back. The sad part is we think he is sick, and he is so thin, you can see his backbone and ribs. The food sent with him was hardly used, and its apparent Nugget was neglected and abused. He'll be seeing a vet tomorrow, please keep him in your prayers that there isn't anything seriously wrong with him that can't be fixed.

Last I called said he was on the couch with him on his back with his feet up and paws down, and his head in my sons lap. He didn't eat much, but drank 2 full bowls of water, and some beer. lol...

He didn't recognize at first and cowered, but when he called his name he perked up a little.

I'll post pictures as soon as he looks healthy. Right now its just too sad. But at least he's in a good home, and the girls don't know he's back yet so it will be a wonderful surprise for them!

Do you actually distrust doctors or are you leery of the treatments they suggest? Or??? Well, I come from a medical family and I do not see them for the gods that they sometimes think that they are.  I also feel that most times I can figure out what is wrong sitting in a waiting room and my smart phone.  I am also REALLY upset at my reaction to the steroids that EVERYONE who is my doctor is an idiot about.  My brother who is a nurse anesthetist predicted this would happen to me the day before I started taking them.  My other bro who is an ER doc said I must have steroid psychosis when I was in bed dying.  He suggested that next time I should take xanax while on steroids - not sure what part of " I can't get out of bed, I can't stay awake " said to him I should be sedated.  My neuro said that it couldn't have been the steroids that I must have some sort of infection - you know the kind that only comes on with this medication and with no fever.  So, now my neuro keeps pushing the spinal and I just feel like if you suggested that I had some sort of infection when I was dying of steroids all the while telling me it couldn't possibly be the steroids - I DON'T TRUST YOU.  My first neuro missed the spots in my brain and the swelling on my brain stem so I don't trust him either.   My family dr, when I came in telling her that I felt horrible, that I think I am really really sick, just said it was the steroids and I would feel better in about a week.  And turns out I DID but man, she didn't even bother to call my neuro to tell her what was going on and perhaps consult on this a bit.

So sum up:1st neuro - idiot - missed things in MRI that even I could see when shown2nd neuro - idiot - didn't want to admit steroids were making me sick/have reaction and suggested ludicrous " infection " theory

Fam Dr - " I didn't do this to you "   - uncaring slackerER Dr Bro - idiot (and always has been - doesn't listen long enough to get the full picture)NA Bro - he must have psychic powers to predict the future??  Not an idiot

So, my plan is to do a repeat MRI as 2nd neuro suggested.  No spinal unless some dr can give me a damn good reason why, especially since spinal blocks for my c-section left me with searing headaches for up to 6 weeks afterward.  Do follow up with 2nd neuro (3 hours away) then find a new neuro closer to home who seems to care about my reaction to steroids.  Find a new family dr that will MANAGE my entire case, and I decided to go through with the gastric bypass surgery on Feb 23.  Hope all this doesn't kill me or worse yet NOT kill me but leave me impaired.
