Guest guest
Has your T not heard of *complex*-PTSD (c-PTSD)? That happens in situations like abusive homes where there is not a single traumatic event but an ongoing envorinment of trauma. Wikipedia or some such would be able to explain it more than I can. At any rate, I'm glad you're doing work on the trauma and treating the symptoms you have. I feel like I have PTSD, too, though my T at the time also didn't seem to think it fit. Then again, she hasn't seen the way I get when I'm triggered by contact. That was a few years ago, and now I'm NC. Guest guest
from wikepedia: " Though mainstream journals have published papers on C-PTSD, the category is not formally recognized in diagnostic systems such as DSM or ICD. " diagnostic requirements are slow to change. I have to have a DSM diagnosis for insurance reasons. My T is specialized in trauma and very good.
