Guest guest
We took my 15 yr old son to Panama for stem cells in Dec. 2011. We got gains in lnaguage and cognition. It only helped his PANDAS symptoms slightly so we had to return to IVIG to treat the PANDAS. We are returning to Panama in late May for a second round (they say the older kids will need 4 to 5 treatments for recovery). Guest guest
LP means infused by lumbar puncture (they IV right into the spinal column so it goes right to the central nervous system and into the brain bypassing the blood brain barrier). IV infusions go right into the vein in the arm.....standard IV To: mb12valtrex Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2012 10:37 AM Subject: Re: OT: Adult Stem Cell Therapy What do you mean with "LP" and "IV" ? Guest guest
Yes, my son has both autism and a sever case of PANDAS. Basically he has problems with his immune system where the body is attacking itself and attacking his brain. The theory in PANAMA for treating autism is they use 2 different kinds of stem cells (from umbilical cord and placenta). One type of cell fixes the immune system and the other type of cell brings more oxygen to the brain repairing the brain damage. Guest guest
I was happy with the treatments in Panama... they are top notch! For kids over 10 yrs they get 2 lumbar pucture IV's and 2 regular IV infusions for a total of 4 infusions. For kids under 10 yrs old they will get 4 regular IV infusions. Guest guest
So the stem cells are given intravenously then? I read IV and thought IV chelation, which I have read is not good. Interesting how they can repair brain damage with more oxygen. This makes me wonder with my son. He was unexpectantly born at home 17 days early (my hubby delivered him pretty fast) and he had the cord around his neck. My husband took it right off, but he was blue/gray and did not cry right away. Once the EMT's came, they gave him oxygen and got him crying. I asked the dev. ped. if this could be the reason for him developmental delays (he had at age one and did not get his PDDNOS diagnosis until age 4.5), and he said no. I wonder if he did have some mild brain damage at birth and then something trigged the PDD. I don't know. Just thinking aloud. Thanks for "listening" to this mom who is trying to figure things out! Be blessed! Cristine OT: Adult Stem Cell Therapy http://www.cellmedicine.com/treatment/autism/ Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this?
