My 6 year old has enlarged adenoids

I was prescribed a steroid nasal spray, but I would rather use something else.

I'm so afraid his problem will lead to surgery. Right now he is getting

continual ear infections/fluid in ears (4th batch of antibiotics)

I just wan this to go away, ear infects and all. Can any one recommend an

natural remedy?

Does your son have any particular diagnosis. My son suffered all things quite often in toddler years theu 5 yrs old or so. HIs cognition seemed normal theu 5 yrs, other than mild speech delay due to a mild hearing loss. Turned out he has a genetic disease, but no one in either my family or my husbands family has this.

I was just curious, it took 4 years for us to get a proper dx. Eveyone was saying autsim, global delay..... blah blah blah..

He has an auto immune condition, but seems to be doing better with GFCF diet. No

other diagnosis.

No deficiency or disease is good, but I'm glad to hear it's more autoimmune and most likely not genetics then. The issue we have has no treatment or cure, only an early death, usually between 10 and 20 yrs when well cared for. We're at 17 yrs right now. It's a lysosomal storage disease called Sanfilippo Syndrome Type A. He was normal at birth and met many milestones, but by 3- 5 having many ear, nose and throat issues, enlarged adenoids etc.. then by 8 yrs was going backwards in skills.

I'm glad to hear that, it seems you get used to what you have to deal with no matter how large or small the issue is. Fortunately the regression is gradual and didn't happen all at once, so it gives you time to adjust and improve etc.. Our kids are loved and cared for at our best, and that's what really counts. They count in our lives and I think they realize that!

Have you tried vitamin C - optidosing " aka as mega dosing? " We do a combo of

live on labs lypo C and ascorbic acid throughout the day with my 6 year old -

when he was sick with flu I went up to 6 grams daily - 3 of each. Now he is on

about 2-4 grams of it. We were prescribed nasal steroids for seasonal allergies

and for last 2 years I've had to use it. This year the vitamin C has handled

it.

I get ear infections all the time....really bad....wierd as an adult....what i used that worked great was siver water by water oz minerals.......there is also putting chopped fresh garlic in some warm olive oil steep over night and give next day......that works good also.......then there is diluted grapeseed extract......used that good also...

then there is ear candling......you can order online good to clean out all the mess in the ears and help detox it out.

We battled the same thing for nearly a year. Eventually had her adenoids

removed. The congestion and fluid in ears returned after 6 months.

Our DAN at the time suggested the SCD diet for other stuff and we found after

doing the SCD diet for 3 months it went away never to return. We stayed on the

diet for a further 8 months and went back to gluten free etc diet keeping an eye

on not having too many grains and sugar and it has never come back.

Diet was hard to do but very worth it for that and endless other symptoms like

eye contact,creative play, balance.

Thanks for all interesting info. Unfortunately i just realized yesterday that

all the antibiotic his been taking since November has caused havoc on his body.

I noticed a bald spot on his head.

His alopecia has come back after a year and a half of no activity. This really

sucks! I actually tried kindling today on his bad ear. I can not keep giving

him antibiotic but when he is in pain it's really bad......

dumb question but I assume all this is place in his ear and not taken orally?
