Guest guest
It's Friday the 13th today. I hope no one here had bad luck!It was hot, hot, hot here today. Although I think it was slightly cooler than yesterday. We haven't had rain or our monsoon storms for a week and now our temps are up. Drats! The forecast says slight chance of rain and that chance is building over the next few days. I'm feeling good--even with the heat. I am now going out to feed and water the poultry twice a day. I'm walking much better than I was in May when I fell. I still won't walk outside without my cane and I do need it out there. I need to sit down a lot when I'm outside so I have chairs stragetically placed in the poultry hard and on the way to the turkey pen. You all know how I am about my chickens and ducks so no update from me would be complete without a poultry story, would it? lol Our good Mommy Hen is setting on 7 eggs again. She only has one surviving chick from her first hatching earlier this summer. That survivor is a cute little red hen named Lucy. I laugh when I go out to the chicken house and there is Mommy Hen setting on eggs and Lucy sitting with her. Lucy still needs/wants her mommy:) Then we have a duck named Oreo (looks like the cookie) who decided she is going to set eggs. We don't need or want any more ducklings so I gave her some chicken eggs to hatch. I hope that goes well for her and for any chicks she hatches. It will as long as this duck momma doesn't try to teach the chicks to swim! lol I hope you are all doing great! I am looking forward to your updates.hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
We are fine Sharon. It is hot here too (in the 90's) and so muggy The mosquitoes are having a hay day drinking our blood! I think I have used up a can of spray already! My little Shih Tzu male (Razz) who is 12 years old has congestive heart failure with a very enlarged heart. This weather is bad for him and he was coughing so much today. His heart is so big that it is pushing into his trachea. I saw the x-rays so the Vet has him on special meds that will make his heart pump more efficiently. It can do just so much though. Hugs, Kathleen WI what's new at your house? Guest guest
No chickens... :-D But the property taxes are paid for the year (yay! Home security of the most basic sort!) , the shiny new hot water heater is heating all sorts of hot water, and I have just put the final copyright notice on the last of a series of 10 new needlework patterns, which now just need model photos to be ready to go to print - now I get to sit with my feet up and stitch for several evenings! Tomorrow I get to go to the library, and a quick grocery shopping trip, and Sunday is church for the Feast of the Dormition, and maybe now things around here can settle back into the usual rhythm... Flare still flaring, but not too bad - at least the fatigue is easing up so I can get a few things done! And that's the story at The Little House Almost On The Prairie... Off for a hot soak ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... Guest guest
Congrats on being a published designer ). I can't believe it's been over a year since I've bought any STASH. Also on the taxes and hot water tank. Spent the last few days at 's ... nobody was home and the tank decided to empty itself. What a mess especially since the basement is set up as an apt. Insurance doesn't cover it so we were on our own. I kept singing "there's a hole in the bucket, dear Henry" til I thought he was going to throttle me ... hugs, Cait what's new at your house? Guest guest
Happy belated birthday, shug - I accidentally deleted the reminder thingie, and without a reminder, I don't " remind " ... :-( Maybe you can buy stash in time to stitch things from my " design line " by the time the e-store opens! ;-) ;-) ;-) Insurance didn't cover our stuff either, humph... so for most of the last MONTH I've been carrying buckets - water in and out, makeshift " chamberpots " , boiling water... I am completely ready to live with modern conveniences again. Hope you get your soon too! in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return...
