Have you had any luck convincing hubby to get a few chickens? Or did you change your mind on that?So your property tax is paid and you didn't even have to throw up on them? No chickens... :-D But the property taxes are paid for the year (yay! Home security of themost basic sort!) , the shiny new hot water heater is heating all sorts ofhot water, and I have just put the final copyright notice on the last of aseries of 10 new needlework patterns, which now just need model photos to beready to go to print - now I get to sit with my feet up and stitch forseveral evenings! Tomorrow I get to go to the library, and a quick grocery shopping trip,and Sunday is church for the Feast of the Dormition, and maybe now thingsaround here can settle back into the usual rhythm... The forecast says slight chance of rain andthat chance is building over the next few days. I'm feeling good--even with the heat. I am now going out to feed and waterthe poultry twice a day. I'm walking much better than I was in May when Ifell. I still won't walk outside without my cane and I do need it outthere. I need to sit down a lot when I'm outside so I have chairsstragetically placed in the poultry hard and on the way to the turkey pen. You all know how I am about my chickens and ducks so no update from me wouldbe complete without a poultry story, would it? lol Our good Mommy Hen issetting on 7 eggs again. She only has one surviving chick from her

firsthatching earlier this summer. That survivor is a cute little red hen namedLucy. I laugh when I go out to the chicken house and there is Mommy Hensetting on eggs and Lucy sitting with her. Lucy still needs/wants hermommy:) Then we have a duck named Oreo (looks like the cookie) who decidedshe is going to set eggs. We don't need or want any more ducklings so Igave her some chicken eggs to hatch. I hope that goes well for her and forany chicks she hatches. It will as long as this duck momma doesn't try toteach the chicks to swim! lol I hope you are all doing great! We'll see about birdies come spring... we may be closer to ducks than

chickens.

I hardly ever throw up, thank God. I would rather have a migraine and

dentistry without anesthesia than throw up. And now to convince Himself to

pay the taxes earlier next year!!! (Would have saved nearly $200 in

interest, for one thing...)

Today I got lunch at Village Inn, and a visit to the needlework store

(needed some new floss for model stitching), and the library, and Walmart,

and the grocery store.

I am exhausted! Tomorrow church and then home for a nice long nap while

Himself goes over the hill to see his folks, aaahhhhhhhhhhhh..........

what's new at your house? (Sharon's update)

It's Friday the 13th today. I hope no one here had bad luck!

It was hot, hot, hot here today. Although I think it was slightly cooler

than yesterday. We haven't had rain or our monsoon storms for a week and

now our temps are up. Drats! The forecast says slight chance of rain and

that chance is building over the next few days.
