I am sure it does come down to that. For instance, while I love blood pudding, I would not willingly eat the "black soup", which is a local customary dish in Småland/Smaaland and Skåne/Scania (regions in the south of Sweden). It's silly, because black soup is actually a blood soup, basically a liquid version of blood pudding and/or blood suasage I would imagine. But still, the idea revolts me... I try to make it sound reasoned by saying that what I love about blood pudding is not only the taste but the crisp surface and the mellow inside, and the contrast between those (it's true!) and that none of that is likely to be had in a soup (which is also true, of course). But that would not be enough to make the idea of the soup revolting, in reality. It comes down to what I am used to, and not used to. love/Reb>> I just can't even imagine blood pudding.
