Guest guest
We saw our first DAN doc today...the " Wholeistic " , Dr. Berger in Tampa. We liked him. Prescribed Epsom salt bath for a week before Wyatt's urine test (stool and blood were already orderderd through another doc results aren't back yet), SPEAK fish oil supplements, additional calcium beyond our chews (to compensate for our GFCF diet). He wants to take it one step at a time so we can document whats working. I told him about antifungals and virals and what I've learned from this group and he said he's game for all of this just needs test results back first which obviously makes sense. He asked how our marriage was doing which initially seemed out of step but he is a holistic doc so we appreciated the commentary. He managed to clear up our " sleeping " argument we've been having for about a year and a half in 2 minutes. It was tough when we got home because (dad) had to work late to make up for the 2 hours off today for the eval. Little brother was amped and Wyatt did something he hadn't done in months...pooped and smeared while I was busy washing dishes. I used to cry and scream and be overwhelmed by this stuff...now that I'm seeking help and have faith of our efforts and Wyatt's recovery I just put on my plastic gloves and got to work. Re: Facebook withdrawl...I'm trying to tell everyone what's happening with my boy and my family. I used to get a ton of comments on everything I said. My page is like a cricket now. All of my friends and support have frozen. So I'm just going to stop...and seek support elsewhere, with people that have been SO generous with their comments, research, and support. Maybe there should be a FB only for " autistic " parents. Does anyone know Mark Zuckerberg? xoxoxoxox to you and your family k8

Guest guest
Yes, be very careful what you say to others, even professionals. A lot of people will take what you say and totally get the wrong perception which can lead to lots of problems. Stick to those of us who understand, and the professionals who understand.
