Guest guest
Okie Dokie.. I'm home again home again jiggity-jig... As I figured.. I caught a bit of guff because I haven't been taking the Copaxone.. and he was once again Adamant about my being on something... so.. after much discussion I will be starting Copaxone once again as soon as the pharmacy gets it shipped in.. at least with the new insurance company it shouldn't have to be mail-ordered type thing through "their" pharmacy.. when I see him in January then we'll talk about the Ampyra.. He immediately nixed the Fingolomoid (sp?).. as he did the Tysabri.. said I wasn't having a problem with the Copaxone, and no side-effects type deal.. until I got scared over that strange reaction (that I thought could have been the start of necrosis).. he kinda sorta told me that necrosis would be easier to fix than the other side-effects that could arise.. He didn't suggest Betaseron or Rebif, because I suffered the flu-like symptoms for 4 years.. (that shouldn't have been allowed to be ongoing).. No keepy me, but sent me downstairs to the lab so I could pee in a cup for them.. I think he figures between most likely having a UTI (I've got no symptoms, but then with a numb tushy would be a bit difficult to "feel the burn") and the dentist having me on 1500 mg of Amoxicillin a day.. until he gets the approval and stuff to get these teeth outta my mouth and such... that once they get these "infections" (or what he thinks are infections) cleared... this numb from the waist down will stop as well... I hope he's right and that it works and the Copaxone works for me as well as it did back when I started.. and then I'll be able to park the power chair and get back to the business of.. well.. walking would be a good start..unassisted would be an even better thing... So I is at home.. dealing as best I can.. smelling what Earl is cooking in the kitchen for dinner.. and my mouth is watering and my belly is growling.. HUGS |)onna I get that panties-in-a-twist feeling too. lol I can't stand the feeling of seams and tags so I always wear mine inside out. hug Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Sounds all in all like a pretty good visit, Donna. I'm happy he kind of admonished you about the Copaxone, and that you will be going back on it!Sorry about the numbness; that's a real bummer honey! I hope that resolves soon for you, Donna. Let us know what, if anything the urinalysis shows. Hopefully tis nothing of note. YOu ARE having yoghurt/acidopholus yes, to combat the antibiotics you are taking? This is important to do.Thanks for letting us know what's up with you!hugs, Kate* Re: anyone heard from Donna in PA?> >> >> >> > The appointment is actually this afternoon... Guest guest
Oh Sharon, I do wish that I had ignored myself, and the trip to Pittsburgh for a neurologist, way back when my first neurologist left the local practice.. but I didn't.. I stuck with the meuronologist for all those 6 years.. shouldn't have though.. But this guy is fantastic.. He and getting their heads together might not be the best of things.. agreeing that the internet could be a dangerous thing.. you know.. "Just enough knowledge to be dangerous" type deal.. and harassing me over my too much curiosity and becoming a danger to myself from this type of activity.. LOL.. I just have to get used to "blindly" (like that's really going to happen LOL).. following what a neurologist has to say.. but the guy is head of the neurology department at one of the largest teaching hospitals in Pittsburgh, as well as the lead on all this research and testing being done in MS and he specializes in ONLY MS.. so he's definitely "in the know" of what's working, what's working well, what's not working, what's not working well, what's causing the most problems, side-effects and such... But it might be awhile before I trust 'blindly' or completely if ever I do again.. After all.. I am the one living with the MonSter.. So I, personally, think that I need to be informed to make informed decisions.. and I don't think Doc has a problem with my asking questions and such either.. even if he agreed with .. I do believe he prefers a patient who challenges his intellect as well.. and then takes his knowledge, experience an opinions into strong account when making their decisions... I'd love to get this guy into a sit-me-down situation where he'd have time to just talk.. I'd love to know just how it is that he got into this field to start with.. and how it is after all these years.. he's still the caring person he is.. he's not above pushing the wheelchair the patient is in.. and he's more than willing to reach out and pat a shoulder in comfort and such.. physical contact.. he's not desensitized to patients in the least.. go figure.. Yup, I think I'll keep him for a long long long time.. said the gals in the office were all new.. I thought I recognized some of them.. but I could be wrong.. but he wrote that he wanted to see me in January.. and this 'new' gal got me in for January!!!! go figger.. LOL.. (maybe that's why they are all new gals? LOL) HUGS |)onna Re: anyone heard from Donna in PA? The appointment is actually this afternoon...
