Guest guest
My daughter posted this yesterday on fb. By the time I got to the end of the video I was sick to my stomach. Those animals don't belong anywhere near a school. You see people like that and suddenly public stonings don't seem so barbaric after all. This was just awful. I just want to scoop that boy up in my arms and love him, love him and love him some more then find those pieces of sh**, knock their teeth down their throats and tell THEM "No! YOU can't see.....your teeth, b*tches!" I am repulsed. Guest guest
I hate watching things like this because they haunt me and I never forget them. I watched this video this morning and cried. I've been sad all day, and worried. I like the staff in my son's class but how do I really know what's going on in there? He's non-verbal as well and can't tell me anything. I've always been bothered that my son's school doesn't allow drop-ins. Parent visits have to be scheduled. I sent this video to my husband and we're going to buy a wire for my son to wear from time to time. Seeing this video now, I realize that I have to know what goes on in the classroom, even though I don't really think anything is happening and I have no indications of abuse. But I have to be sure. Guest guest
Just want to add that when my boy started recovery treatments at 14, he came to me with all kinds of horror stories about school staff. He was always verbal, but wasn't well enough in thought to know to complain. Anyhow, he was angry for a couple of years about it. He has had great experiences and bad experiences. I really think the school staff is just not properly staffed or trained. They should modify their existing practices to include actual counselors, not school counselors who are not licensed to treat developmental disorders, but real counselors who can. Counselors who are licensed to treat developmental disorders know that all individuals are affected by what is going on around them regardless of whether or not they communicate well. Guest guest
I am not sure if a school can legally forbid parents to come to the school without notification. Look into the state education rules about this. My son went to a school who did this to me. Years later, when he recovered, he told me that they locked him in dark rooms by himself for long periods of time and was told not to move at all or he wouldn't be let out. He said he would just sit there still, afraid of the dark. He was very hyper and impulsive, but at that time, the professionals in my area didn't diagnose autism. Anyhow just saying, yes, his behaviors were difficult in a school setting, but I didn't know they were so bad that the school had do put him in isolated rooms. If they would have told me, then I would have been able to get better help for him sooner. In his first year of high school, he was still special needs, and he told me that one of his teachers used to call kids stupid and such. He had a lot of anger towards her. Her son was the principal so none of the other teachers would stick up to her or tell on her. Anyhow, I just focused on recovery and pulled my kid out of all that. Recovery was easier than trying to make mean people nice. Love and prayers, Heidi N I've always been bothered that my son's school doesn't allow drop-ins. Parent visits have to be scheduled. Guest guest
Yep.........they are gonna get their come up ins someday. They go around bearing false witness and then can't do a damn thing about abusive teachers. No justice in this life , but for sure in the next. God is perfect justice and mercy. Guest guest
This is exactly what I am scared of with my son too. I was super sick by the end of this video. I do admire this dad's civility though. If I would be at his place, my reaction would have been really uncivilized. Plus, one thing no one seems to have noticed. I watched this news first on ABC news and the reporter was Dan , weekend anchor of GMA. He made a statement, who wants to get taped on their bad days at work? Really Dan? She had a bad day, this woman was happy, didn't you listen the whole tape before making a report? Noel Yep.........they are gonna get their come up ins someday. Guest guest
Noel, that is awful! A bad day? I have definitely lost my cool with my kids at times, but even AT MY WORST I have never been guilty of this kind of disgusting disrespect. I am so sad to hear of other issues among us. I am sending peace, love, and prayer to us all. This is exactly what I am scared of with my son too. I was super sick by the end of this video. I do admire this dad's civility though. Guest guest
A boy, autism, and a dad with a video camera. Powerful. No matter what else happens, it sending a heart-filled wakeup call to millions in just a few days and I am grateful for that. When blindness is exposed it can hurt and I am glad it is being turned into something that could help a lot of people to see more clearly. Well done, autism dad. > > My daughter posted this yesterday on fb. By the time I got to the end of the video I was sick to my stomach. Those animals don't belong anywhere near a school. Guest guest
I can't bring myself to watch or listen to this video. Before I read about it anywhere, my 18-year-old told me about it. She said she had to turn it off before it got to the end because she could not take it. I said, " That's why we need to recover Elena as much as we can while she is young. " So, my older one immediately abandoned her homework and started playing with Elena. Note to that Dan reporter: I have worked full time all my life. I have always been courteous and professional towards others, even when they were immature, petty, and even out of control. People who can't extend that courtesy to a defenseless child are cowardly custards. They are not humans. > > This is exactly what I am scared of with my son too.
