Punxsutawney Phil predicts

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (AP) — The country's most famous groundhog predicted an early spring Wednesday but wasn't willing to go out on a limb to forecast whether his state's Pittsburgh Steelers will win the Super Bowl.

Punxsutawney Phil emerged just after dawn on Groundhog Day to make his 125th annual weather forecast in front of a smaller-than-usual crowd in rural Pennsylvania who braved muddy, icy conditions to hear his handlers reveal that he had not seen his shadow.

What about the dad of the 2 girls? Is he warm enough himself?8 kids in the house! Wow, that's a lot of mouths to feed, and probably a lot of hustle and bustle.Kids had off today (again) from school. I think this might be the 4th snow day already this winter--and Feb. has just begun! We had only a bit of snow, but an ice storm on top of everything. It's beginning to melt a bit now, but they are expecting very low temps tonight, so we're looking at a 'refreeze'. I have to go out for hockey practice tonight, so cross your fingers it hasn't gotten too cold when I go out at 5:30.Not sure if it's the weather or what, but I'm so very down. Eating too much, sleeping too much, forgetting my meds, not showering/bathing--I feel like I'm spiraling down. I'm wondering how everyone is doing in this major winter storm? I hope no one has lost power, especially those who need power for your heating! It snowed lightly most of the day yesterday and again today, getting heavier as the day went on. We have been watching the weather warnings for our area and we are prepared. We have pumped out water tank full, have our firewood in, the fireplace and wood stove are both burning nice and warm. The turkeys, chickens and ducks are secured in their shelters. The outside wild cats have been fed good, high protein food to help them with body heat. My daughter's girls are still here (it's been a week today) and we also have our two neighbor children who stay with us when it's bitter cold because they don't have heat. So that's a total of 8 kids here in the house.It's supposed to be -22 wind chill here tonight with a temp of around zero. Batten down the hatches everyone and stay inside and stay warm!hugs

You sure had quite a bit of snow and drifts. We don't get it very often here, so I love the way it looks, and liked walking, and playing in it. When I was younger the cold didn't bother me. Today I might stick my head out to take in a nice crisp breath of fresh air, but it would be too cold to go all the way out.

I hope it clears up for everyone soon. I don't think we've had a winter here. Some cold nights, but fall temps in the 40's and 50's. Rain by tommorrow. uggh....But then again on the rare occasion we've had snow in May before.
