Recommendation for quality probiotic at local stores?

We have always used Kirkman or Custom Probiotics for our probiotics. These have

to be ordered online though. I am always recommending probiotics to people, but

I just tell them to get a quality high count probiotic. Do you have a

suggestion for quality brands that are carried in local health food stores like

Whole Foods? Should any brand there be okay for your average person (no special

dietary restrictions or ASD or PANDAS or whatever)? For instance, I have a

friend who was on major antibiotics in June and he has had all sorts of

digestive issues since then and now has silent acid reflux that is affecting his

singing voice. I doubt he would order something online.

Thanks,

Cathy

You can buy Syntol at Vitamin Shoppe, sometimes behind the front counter.

coconut kefir and fremented foods. Otherwise, I'd say stick with the stuff in the refrigerated section at the store. They're the ones that are most likely to contain live probiotics. Or culturelle. He should seriously consider long term use of probiotics. 2+ years.

VSL # 3 or VSL # 3 DS (Rx only) is the favorite probiotic in Ulcerative colitis community. In our 'world', we are asked to supplement probiotics due to inflamed colon. Its on expensive side but really good.Needs to store in the refrigerator.

I recall someone on this list relating that VSL is also good at reducing

oxalates specifically. Three cheers for that!!!
