[9 Attachments] Hi everyoneFirst I want to welcome all the new members, I know you will love it here and feel right at home.Well, I'm far behind with my emails, so by the time you'll receive this one, I guess I will be in time for the next update!! LOLI've started on January, 7th a diet. The Atkins diet, now I know it's not the perfect diet, a lot of bad publicity, but it works for me and that's all that counts. I'm not even on the 20g carbs a day, where you should start. I eat every day fruit, just skip all the bad stuff, like potatoes, white bread, rice, pasta and all sugary stuff. Yeah, now that was my favorite foods. WAS!!! I don't get sugar cravings anymore, well, not too much anyway. Besides the fruit takes care of that. The best part is that I had one of my bad cravings last night. You know, that emotional eating thing? Well, I grab the peanuts and raisins and some salty crackers that was left from Christmas. It tasted like cardboard. No nothing wrong with it, it just didn't taste the way I imagined. I thought I will be able to hear heavenly music or actually go to heaven, but it was a real let down and the best thing that ever happened to me. I guess I will be able to keep up with this different eating plan for the rest of my life then. I've lost 4,5kg = about 9 pounds. And I haven't been exercising at all. Started, but you all know how far we usually get with it. Too tired, too much aches and pains, and please don't forget the heat!!! I've noticed a few changes since I'm on my diet. My asthma is better, only took Prednisone (steroids) once for it. I've only taken my Tramadol (morphine) once or twice in this month. Now that is great. And even with the steroids, I'm still losing weight. And the best part is that I can fit in some of my clothes which I couldn't wear anymore. I could even wear my pearl necklace today, couldn't get it around my thick neck anymore. LOL I'm weighing less at this stage, than what I weighed 16 months ago when I got my walker. Okay, now about the garden. All the little chameleons are still behaving, well, everyone except Mini-Blaartjie. He has this idea to run away from "home" every once in a while. Where does he run to? The PORCH!!! Yeah, now that's a bit dangerous, but at least I know now to keep an eye on him. When he's not in his tree, I know I have to look for him in the fern on the porch. Yesterday, my Mom spotted him while climbing on to the porch. So she called the dogs inside, and told me to go and take care of him. She will never ever touch them. Scared to death of my little creatures. LOL Shame, so I went out, put my hand in front of him and he was actually grateful for the lift. So later the afternoon I took him back to his tree, don't want him to stay too long on the porch, because when he decides to move on, he could get stepped on.It's 2:30AM in the morning. So why am I awake??? Because it's only 24 degrees C = about 75 degrees F. Yeah, now don't you wish you were here. Except it gets a bit hot. So how are you all holding up with the snow storms? I've seen on the news that a few of you had it bad. BRRRRRR I hope you all are doing okay.Okay, now I found a few pictures, not outside my window, but definitely outside the front door and in the garden. So now you can see a glimpse of the porch that I'm telling you about. The green chameleon that's on his journey up to the porch is my little sweetheart, Knerses. Now the reason why he came to my door is because I usually visited him in the garden with a sick chameleon, Blommetjie. Now she was paralyzed in her behind legs. So I had to take her to flies and her favorite, bees, so she could just catch them with her fast little tongue and eat them. There was no other way that she would have survived. I also had to give her water on a leaf to drink. She stayed in a box with a soft cotton at the bottom and a bunch of twigs all around, to make her feel at home. Unfortunately, she died on December, 11th 2008. Now the date of these pictures are December, 31st 2008. So I guess Knerses was wondering why I'm not visiting him anymore, bringing her along. He usually got uptight, all puffy, really mad. But she loved being outside, and after a while she realized that he won't be able to hurt her, because she was safe on my hand.I didn't want to get involved with chameleons again after Blommetjie's death, it hurt too much. But Knerses came looking for me. It took a while to get him tamed, but it happened in a few months. Now he is so tamed, he will just climb on my hand, without any hesitation. The rest of them usually needs a bit of cornering to do it. And he also drink water from a leaf. Yeah, now you will be able to understand why I love this little creature so much. We have 4 grown-up chameleons (Knerses, Boompie, Groenie and Blaartjie {Now Blaartjie is really mean, he even bit me once, yeah, they bite and it hurts like hell. I even had a blood blister to show for it. No, they don't have teeth, but it felt like my finger got hit by a hammer. So you can imagine how bad it was, but I'm still trying to tame him.} Boompie and Groenie are girls, I think!!! And then there is 3 teenagers (Mini-Knerses, Mini-Blaartjie and Baby), well, I've tamed Mini-Knerses a bit, he will drink water from a leaf and climbs on my hand without being cornered. Baby is the only other chameleon, except for Knerses, that will lick my finger. Not sure if they like me or that they just want to mark me. LOL At least they don't bite!!! And a whole bunch of baby chameleons, of which I can't keep track of. But when they survived most of the bad stuff and grow a bit more to become teenagers, it will be easier to tell them apart. Right now they all are gray and very small.I also promised you a photo of our purple hibiscus. So there you have 2 of them. I also attached another hibiscus flower. I just love the colors, it's so alive. And here is a warning. Beware what you wish for. You will be able to see on the next pic that we have a Morning Glory growing on "whatever" you want to call it. Hey, you know my English usually let me down. LOL Well, I once joked and said, we will have to start a garden on our roof, because there isn't any room left on the ground. Well, Morning Glory heard about that great idea, so it went through the roof. No REALLY!!! LOL You will be able to see the little purple flowers on the roof. LOL It didn't survive very long there, but it tried at least. Our Morning Glory had died in that particular spot, but it's still going strong in other parts of our garden. And last is a picture of my favorite rose. Purple, hey, they don't come in blue, so then purple will have to do. I think it's called Silver Lilac. So there you have my whole silly story for a year. At least it makes good reading material to put you right to sleep. So take care all my dear friends, stay out of trouble, and please keep that furry turtle/gators away from me. Too big to fit on my hand.Love you allSilly and her strange creaturesTo: Group <mserslife >Sent: Sat, January 29, 2011 9:32:31 PMSubject: Update time folks!
