Tetty,I am not a doctor but I don’t think the Valtrex dose your doctor is prescribing is high enough. My son has always taken the antivirals three times a day. And we never stopped the antifungals or the antivirals. Since their immune system doesn’t work properly not all children can stop these meds. has been taking them in one form or another since he was five. He is now 23 and going for a master’s in engineering. He has friends and most importantly does all the things the early doctors told me he never would do. To be honest I’m a bit afraid to stop the meds although Dr. G thinks we should stop the yeast medication and see what happens. Giving a lower dose or not the right dose of antiviral could make the virus more resistant. Cheryl gets the medical much better than I do and can probably explain this better. My expertise is more in the behavioral and educational piece that is also necessary for recovery.Best, Marcia
