Guest guest
I wish I had known earlier that BPD existed. I really thought it lived just within my horrible family and had to be kept secret forever. BPD behavior destroyed my family as we all ran and hid from the pain. I think that the secretive loneliness was the worst part, although I can identify with almost everybody's stories. Thanks
Guest guest
Please understand all of us KO's have felt this way. Please understand that BPD is supposedly hard to diagnose and therapists don't like to make the diagnosis so it takes time to figure out. Sheesh, I tripped over the concept of BPD by happenstance years ago, saw that my nada had 5 or more of the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria, but I did not discover the very  helpful materials* for dealing with a BPD (and in coping onerself, as an adult KO) until very recently. Heck, had I known what I know as a KO now back then, it might have saved my then wife from my nada and thereafter saved my marriage and everything else since then. (Then again, a friend aptly but teasingly points out, in the realm of if's and if-only's, that if his mom " had had 4 wheels, she'd be a Chevrolet. "  Ahhhh..... )  As another contributor here has stated, " may we all heal.
