Guest guest
We just went through this....has he been tested for the MTHFR deletion? If he has this, there is supporting literature out there that these kids should not have nitrous. I agree, find a new dentist. You may be better going under general in the OR (that's what we did.) You are right to be worried and don't let any Dr. be disrespectful of your feelings.... I think the summary attached is helpful. I agree with Pamela, find another dentist. Cavities are not an emergency. Take your time and find someone who doesn't dismiss you out of ignorance. Best,Sylvia If they won't work with you, find another dentist. Well, we just got back from the dentist and my son has a cavity. She wants to use nitrous oxide. I explained to her that my son is deficient in B-12 and has to have twice-weekly shots and she is not concerned. Thinks I am nuts. She may be right, but I don't think about this:) I know I have seen something saying that kids with b12 deficiency should not have nitrous...does anyone have those citations? What are other options you all have used? I am terrified of a regression...they " accidentally " gave him fluoride today and I think it's contributing to the 2 hour long meltdown he just had over finding out he has a cavity.
