Guest guest
Hi everyone, I feel so exhausted as when I cover one area, another aspect of my son's illness comes up and I feel that I havn't done anything for him yet. My son started having divergent squint (outward deviation of his eyes) when he looked up but it was intermittent. Sometimes he would only have it while he was on some detox. His last eye exam was in 2007 and at that time the ophthalmologist had said that my son will eventually need glasses but he was not ready at that time. Then we started the homeotoxicology protocols and wasted a lot of time on that and everything was on hold during that time as all his worsening was called a gain by the practitioner and she told us to be patient. I learned about the vision therapy and that our kids need perceptual evaluation. Dr Melvin Kaplan in NY was suggested by the practitioner but his fees was ridiculous. It was somewhere around $960.00 for first evaluation and so on. Now I heard about a local optometrist Dr Harvey Richman in NJ and off course the whole program that they offer is also very expensive. I thought about asking more experienced moms regarding vision therapy whether it actually works and what are the options for financial coverage. If I do have to pay myself, I would prefer to go to someone people already have good results with. My son is getting his MRI and EEG next week. He is undergoing evaluation by developmental specialist to determine the right school program for him. We are trying to work with school system to get him reevaluated for services. He needs to see an immunologist for his allergies and a gastroenterologist as he has stomach pains on and off and his episodes are pretty bad. I am busy following the dan treatments and trying to read as much as I can to learn biomed myself. And on top of all this my husband thinks that since I am not working anymore, I really don't have much to do at home. My little one is fighting with constipation which is dangerous for her as she has bladder reflux and my mornings are spent in making sure she gets her fiber, fruits and exercise so she could have bms naturally and I don't need to use meds. All this and then dealing with in-laws who have no idea about biomed. I am sure what I am dealing with is not anything unusual and all the warrior moms are dealing with this and some of you are struggling a lot more than me. But I feel so overwhelmed as my husband recently declared that it would have been better if I was a mom who cared about her kids from her heart and not use the brain so much. So all this effort of doing my own search for the right supplements, therapies and diet is " wasting time " ? I don't know why I started typing all this but I am just too bitter today. Anyways, I think I should get back to the real reason I posted this message. It was to find out if vision therapy works and if someone could recommend a good optometrist and also if anyone had experience with Dr Richman in NJ. Thanks is
Guest guest
Aw, is. I know nothing about vision therapy. But I know alot about frustration and feeling overwhelmed. We all do. You tell your husband that you can "love from your heart" til the cows come home but it won't fix your daughter's poopy problems. The good Lord gave you a heart AND a brain for a reason. Hang in there. Tomorrow will be a better day : ) You're a wonderful mom for not taking the easy way out. xox -Tammy To: mb12valtrex Sent: Tuesday, October 25, 2011 2:45 PMSubject: Feeling completely overwhelmed, vision therapy, listening therapy with biomed Hi everyone,I feel so exhausted as when I cover one area, another aspect of my son's illness comes up and I feel that I havn't done anything for him yet. Guest guest
My sone sees dr Kaplan. I think vison theraphy has helped alot. We have only done 2 sets of theraphy. He has been wearing the glasses for 1year now. It is ver expensive . The vison threphy is $500 a month and glasses are $500-600 a pair.you are suppose to do the program for 4 week , record the last session and mail it to doctor. Then he gives you new programs. We are about to start the 3rd program. We were out of town for a long period and that's why we feel behind. But over all mb-12, hbot , vision theraphy .. Are my favorites . I hope this helps you. I know every kid is different . All the things I have done to help my son , I have seen great results but still not recovery . We still have a long way too go . Guest guest
Hi , Did your child have some element of lazy eye? What improvements did you notice? The program that you follow, is it like vision exercises? I found some doctor in NJ who also does vision therapy. Is Dr Kaplan better than others or is he the best? Thanks is > > My sone sees dr Kaplan. I think vison theraphy has helped alot. We have only done 2 sets of theraphy. He has been wearing the glasses for 1year now. It is ver expensive .
