This is Laureen Forman and Kristy Nardini testifying at the California State Senate on Autism and how things need to be changed: http://calchannel.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=7 & clip_id=275 Laureen starts at approx. 22:30 and Kristy follows right after.I am so proud to call these women my friends. They did so much for our kids on this day and will be instrumental in the new group called ARMI that we are currently forming. ARMI that is the acronym that stands for we're an army of people who believe that Autism Requires Medical Interventions. CFS is a part of this too.Our mission will be to unite all the various Autism and Chronic Fatigue groups together as one voice. We must stop the infighting and instead fight the bigger problem to get the world to realize this is not a psychiatric or developmental condition. The common ground all groups can agree on is that Autism is a complicated medical condition that deserves treatment. Each child has different medical reasons for their symptoms. No one approach works for all children and their medical issues must be addressed individually. If the infighting among ourselves concerning causes and treatments is terminated; no one can stop us. Together we will make things happen and demands answers for our children. There is a new book called The Autism Revolution by Dr. Martha Herbert that explains Autism and similar conditions. She is a Harvard trained clinician and researcher who understands that our children’s immune systems are overtaxed and unable to handle all the new stresses put on their bodies. Dr. Herbert shares our belief that if the medical issues can be addressed, recovery is possible. The other book to read is Dr. ’s Infectious Behavior. It talks about immune activation and the part it plays in various diseases. Best,Marcia Hinds
