Guest guest
Those of you who've had a bad experience with the MMR vaccine, can you share what has helped your child? For DS, he went down-hill after the MMR. His titers show high measles. We've tried so many things under the name of biomed and now we're at a point where we hardly have any options left - anti-virals(LDM, OLE, Monolaurin), prednisone, leucovorin, LDN, namenda, aricept, valtrex, Immunovir, Amantadine, MB12 (shots and oral) and tons of other supplements and finally stem cell treatment in Panama. He showed a positive response with the stem cell treatment in Panama, but it all died off within 6 weeks. It was a waste for us and I don't know why the positive response just went away completely. He responds well to high dose vitamin A but it also dies off in about 2 months. Now we're at a point where I feel like we have no answers. For those who had high measles what cured your child? Thanks and regards, Arpita.
Guest guest
Hi Arpita, My son, , is 3 1/2 and we have been doing biomedical treatments for the past 1 1/2 years. I would say he is 75% recovered (this is a qualitative judgment, of course.) We've done many of the same treatments as you have; of the ones you mentioned, MB12 shots by far had the most benefit for my son, as we started to see positive effects within 24 hours. He has the MTHFR (single copy - C677T) genetic variation, which helps to explain why he responded so well to MB12. The other three most effective treatments for that we have done are: 1 - GFCFSF diet + complete elimination of all known allergens + strict rotation of remaining foods (Based on this, you can probably guess that he is a " gut kid. " ) In addition to special diets, we, like you, add in many supplements, but it's not clear to me which of them have helped the most. We also take tons of probiotics, which does seem to help with GI function. My personal belief is that kiddos who are harmed by the MMR probably all have some degree of gut problems, because the measles virus tends to take up residence in the digestive tract. It is also known to contribute to Crohn's disease, though no doctor ever mentions that when assuring you that it's perfectly safe to stick your child... 2 - Tomatis Method - We've done two intensives (15 days each) plus an 8-day booster. This really helped with 's language development and articulation. 3 - HBOT. This has been a Godsend for us!! We've been doing it for a few months and we have in a little under 200 hours so far, so we still have a long way to go before we can put this therapy in the past. However, even with just ~200 hours, has made incredible gains. He's gone from not answering yes/no questions to answering yes/no, asking his own " Wh " questions (including " why " which is a little more complex than " what " , " where " and " who " ), asking about future and past tense events (e.g. in the morning, " Where are we going today, mommy? " ), comprehending cause and effect, and the list just goes on. If I had just $10K and had to choose how to spend it, I would buy a used HBOT chamber and start diving. Our DAN doctor sees gains--some more than others--in about 84% of kids who try this treatment. We are also considering IVIG down the road, but it is terribly expensive and there is no chance that our insurance will cover it, so we're undecided since there are no indicators to help us know whether it will help or not. But it's another treatment to consider that many people report produces benefits. Good luck! Those of you who've had a bad experience with the MMR vaccine, can you share what has helped your child?
