Hi everyone,I was just speaking to a tech today at LeeSilsby about getting Alinia compounded. It is not possible through them at the moment. She told me that the tablets they get (currently their source is out) have yellow and blue dye throughout and aluminum!!! so getting it "clean" is not possible.Does anyone know if it is possible to get Alinia without the colors and more importantly the aluminum? Many thanks!!

Alinia (nitazoxanide) Tablets and Alinia (nitazoxanide) for Oral Suspension

contain the active ingredient, nitazoxanide, a synthetic antiprotozoal agent for

oral administration. Nitazoxanide is a light yellow crystalline powder. It is

poorly soluble in ethanol and practically insoluble in water. Chemically,

nitazoxanide is 2-acetyloxy-N-(5-nitro-2-thiazolyl)benzamide. The molecular

formula is C12H9N3O5S and the molecular weight is 307.3. The structural formula

is:

Alinia Tablets contain 500 mg of nitazoxanide and the following inactive

ingredients: maize starch, pregelatinized corn starch, hydroxypropyl

methylcellulose, sucrose, sodium starch glycollate, talc, magnesium stearate,

soy lecithin, polyvinyl alcohol, xanthan gum, titanium dioxide, talc, FD & C

Yellow No. 10 Aluminum Lake, FD & C Yellow No. 6 Aluminum Lake, and FD & C Blue No.

2 Aluminum Lake.

While it does have coloring, the aluminum is the name of the color, it does not

say that is contains aluminum.

While we have not personally used Alina, we've been able to successfully use the

more natural/herbs route, I know some that have needed it & had success w/it..so

I'm not posting to knock Alina...as I've found that if the body needs it for a

short time to improve in the long run (while still being careful w/the foods)

then so be it....take the rx w/the crap to help get the body get better...so

this is not to discourage someone from using it for a short time if that's

what's needed.

With that being said, here's my 2c:

I would not choose to use any of the Aluminum Lake dye products if I could at

all avoid them, they are still garbage into the body that the body has to work

hard to get rid of...what body needs artificial color derived from COAL TAR!!

uminum-lake.html

I thought this info about the aluminum oxide was good:

http://science.ca/askascientist/viewquestion.php?qID=392

" It does not contain elemental aluminum, but it contains alumina which is

aluminum oxide. "

My personal take...some of the comments in these write ups saying they are safe

are the same ones rowing upstream w/the ones that said mercury in the vaccines

are safe.....my kids neurology disagreed w/these people.....

The less toxins our bodies have to deal w/getting rid of, the better off they

are....

Though when it comes to Alinia...getting rid of parasites are a front line

treatment.

I'd personally say try to avoid Aluminum lakes as much as possible (that means

rx, food & cosmetics...especially if the moms pregnant/nursing)....

Blessings,

Rita
