Guest guest
We are getting Pixie, my niece, this for her birthday (she will be three): http://www.amazon.com/Brio-31355-Wooden-Stove/dp/B0001WGIR6Her mom says she is playing a lot with those when she is visiting with other kids (who have them), so I think it'll be appreciated. She'll get a book too (from us) " the Pirate" (she has " the Knight" already, and it's one of her favorites. The "" series is one where the message is that girls can do cool stuff too), and some small things. Perhaps we'll get her something to go with the stove too (like pans etc). love/Reb – hopefully I'll do a "real" update later.

Guest guest
Its March 5, so it's a couple of weeks away still. Yes, it is really fascinating to see/hear her trying to make sense of everything. For instance, when we were looking at family photos, she pointed to mom's husband and said: "He is gramma's big brother". Family relations can be complicated...love/Reb>> That stove is wonderful! Guest guest
We call them french fries here...but you probably know that already.I've seen wooden food that comes with a knife. The 2 pieces, likebread, for instance, are velcro-ed together. You take the (pretend)knife and cut the pieces apart and it makes a real cool sound. Theyhave it with veggies as well. It's fun stuff! With the range of my kids from 11 to 22,it's been years since I've had a wee one, and they've come out with so manyother toys, it's amazing.love to you, and the soon-to-be birthday girl,KateTo: MSersLife Sent: Thu, February 17, 2011 5:38:59 AMSubject: Re: birthday present for a 3 year old That's an idea! Guest guest
French fries, yes, that's right. I couldn't remember... Anyway the "prips" word Pixie has invented is like "strips" and "pommes frites" in one word, I would think.Yes, there are tons of cool toys out now! We keep a "toy bag" for visiting kids, it's an excellent excuse to buy the fun toys you see in the stores ("thought it would be a good thing for the toy bag"...). love/Reb> >> > How grand, Reb!
