Hi Sharon, I am in the process of getting set up with a new nero. I have Medicaid so I am getting set up with a pcp. I have that appointment on Feb.22, 2011. I know him already because he takes care of my son. I will be taking a list of symptoms with me when I see him. My last nero sent a letter to DMV to take my linces from me. Many states have mandatory reporting laws - my former DiL's Dr had to report

her when he put her on seizure meds. It's a public safety thing - YOUR privacy

rights/driving priviledges against everyone else's safety - what are the chances

of s seizure/diabetic event/etc while driving?

Sigh....

No longer driving because I forget what I'm doing...

I'm sure. It still bites rocks, though....

Does your state have a " prove it " sort of thing with DMV? For instance I

officially can't drive any more because of the sight loss in my right eye, but I

could ask for an exception and do certain things to prove I was safe to drive...

(but I'm not for other reasons...)

I didn't know your old neuro had your license taken away! That must have been a horrible thing for you, Margaret. I'm sorry. What were his reasons? Doctors can do that in Arizona too. I believe doctors in Arizon are required to contact DMV if they feel a patient cannot safely drive. I wonder how you could get some hand controls? I don't know how expensive that is but I imagine it is very costly.
